SUPPORT OF MOBILE-TERMINATED COMMUNICATION IN AN EVOLVED PACKET SYSTEM
In an embodiment, there is provided a method for support of mobile-terminated communication in an Evolved Packet System, towards a User Equipment UE in idle mode using a power saving mechanism whereby the UE is transiently not reachable, the method includes allowing one or more Downlink DL packets received for the UE to be buffered in a Serving Gateway SGW, upon request, for up to a duration referred to as DL buffering duration.
Method and system for flow control between a base station controller and a base transceiver station
According to a disclosed embodiment, a flow indication counter is incremented each time a data packet is transmitted from a buffer. When the number of data packets transmitted equals or exceeds a threshold number, a flow indication message comprising the buffer window size is generated and transmitted to the base station controller. Further, flow indication messages can be generated and transmitted every threshold time interval, independently of the number of data packets transmitted to ensure that flow indication messages are sent at least every preset time interval. Moreover, a system for flow control can be constructed comprising a flow indication counter module configured to provide an updated number of data packets transmitted. The system further comprises a window size monitoring module which determines the buffer window size and a message generating module which generates a flow indication message comprising the buffer window size.
PAGING CONTROL METHOD, COMMUNICATION CONTROL APPARATUS AND BASE STATION
A paging control method in a mobile communication system including a base station and a communication control apparatus, including: an instruction step in which, in a state where a connection between the base station and the communication control apparatus is established, the base station transmits a connection maintaining instruction signal to the communication control apparatus; and a paging step in which, when the communication control apparatus that receives the connection maintaining instruction signal receives downlink data for the user apparatus, the communication control apparatus holds the downlink data in a buffer and transmits a paging signal for the user apparatus while maintaining the connection between the base station and the communication control apparatus.
Communication system and communication apparatus
A communication system in which a communication apparatus includes a calculation unit configured to calculate, upon receiving a search signal from a new communication apparatus, a first time length by multiplying a first weighting time length by a relay count in a communication route to a destination, a second time length by multiplying a second weighting time length shorter than the first weighting time length by the signal strength of each communication link in the communication route, and a third time length by adding the first and second time lengths, and a transmission unit configured to transmit a response signal upon passage of the third time length from the receipt of the search signal, wherein upon receiving the response signal from one of the communication apparatuses ahead of any other response signals, the new communication apparatus sets the one of the communication apparatuses as the most adjacent relay point.

CACHING AND PROVIDING DATA TO A DEVICE BASED ON AVAILABLE RESOURCES
In response to detecting, at the first time period, that the available amount of the first resource on the computing device is below the first threshold level, the computer system switches the computing device to a first low resource mode, wherein the switching the computing device to the first low resource mode includes intercepting a first data intended to be transmitted to the computing device, the first data corresponding to a first set of one or more applications on the computing device. In response to detecting, at a second time period that is after the first time period, that the available amount of the first resource on the computing device meets or exceeds the first threshold level, the computer system switches the computing device back to a normal operating mode.
BLOCK ACKNOWLEDGMENT GENERATION AND SELECTION RULES
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In an aspect, the apparatus is configured to receive at least one frame from at least one wireless device and to generate a BA frame that may include a block ACK bitmap based on the received at least one frame. The BA frame may include a fragment number field and a bitmap length indicator within the fragment number field that indicates a length of the block ACK bitmap within the BA frame. The apparatus may be configured to transmit the generated BA frame to the at least one wireless device.
Wireless communication system control of carrier aggregation for a wireless relay
A wireless communication network controls Carrier Aggregation (CA), a donor base station wirelessly serves a wireless relay and the donor base station and the wireless relay wirelessly serve User Equipment (UE). The wireless relay wirelessly exchanges user data with a UE using CA based on an initial relay to UE (R2UE) CA threshold. The donor base station determines a donor base station utilization amount and processes the donor base station utilization amount to determine a modified R2UE CA threshold. The donor base station wirelessly transfers an instruction to the wireless relay indicating the modified R2UE CA threshold. The wireless relay wirelessly receives the modified R2UE CA threshold and exchanges additional user data with the UE using CA based on the modified R2UE CA threshold.
Method and device for improving the transmission efficiency in a communication system with a layered protocol stack
In a method for improving the transmission efficiency in a communication system with a layered protocol stack, data packets are processed on an upper protocol layer. Data packets are forwarded to a lower protocol layer for transmission and the transmission is performed with variable channel access delays. The upper protocol layer is notified by the lower protocol layer when a transmission is started to allow a synchronization of timers in the upper protocol layer. If a layer performs a scheduling of data packets for the transmission, a rescheduling is performed alternatively or in addition during a channel access delay. Devices and software programs embodying the invention are also described.
