Method for PDU session establishment procedure and AMF node
Provided is a method for handling a packet data unit (PDU) session establishment procedure. The method may performed by an access and mobility management function (AMF) node and comprise: determining whether to reject a PDU session establishment request. The determination may be performed if the PDU session establishment request includes an existing PDU session identifier. Based on the existing PDU session identifier, an identifier of a session management function (SMF) node may be acquired. The PDU session establishment request may be accepted, if it is determined based the identifier of the SMF node that the SMF node and the AMF node belong to a same PLMN. The PDU session establishment request may be further accepted, if it is determined based the identifier of the SMF node that the SMF node belongs to a HPLMN. The PDU session establishment request may be rejected, if it is determined based the identifier of the SMF node that the SMF node and the AMF node do not belong to the same PLMN or the SMF node does not belong to the HPLMN.
Telecommunications system and method
A telecommunications system is operable to provide a facility for a communications session to a mobile node using an internet protocol. When changing affiliation from one of a first and second packet data network to the other of the first and second packet data network, a mobile node is operable to generate a service level identifier representing a requested priority to be afforded to the internet packets communicated to and from the mobile node with respect to other internet packets communicated to and from other nodes. The mobile node is also operable to generate a binding update internet packet providing a care of address of the mobile and an indication of the service level identifier in the binding update internet packet and to communicate the binding update internet data packets to a home agent of the mobile node. The home agent is operable in response to the binding update to identify the service level identifier and to communicate the internet packets in accordance with the requested priority represented by the service level identifier. The telecommunications system can prioritise the transmission of internet packets according to a priority requested by the mobile node represented by the service level identifier thus reducing a likelihood that mobile node will experience delays or interruptions in the transmission of data.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UE CONTEXT AND PDU SESSION CONTEXT MANAGEMENT
There is provided systems and methods for the grouping of UEs, such that UEs can share a UE group context or share a PDU session context or both. In this manner, network resource usage, with respect to UE context and PDU session context management, can be mitigated.
Distributed mobility management technology in a network environment
Embodiments contemplate that the transfer of an Internet Protocol (IP) address from one (e.g. a first) Gateway (GW) to another (e.g. a second) Gateway (GW) may improve the Dynamic Mobility Management (DMM) handling in any network environment, including a dense network environment. Embodiments contemplate a dense network may enable a User Equipment (UE or wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)) to be connected to the closest GW while the IP address transfer may enable the usage of a relatively short data path (e.g. perhaps a shortest data path), which may be useful in the context of DMM, perhaps even for existing flows. Using the contemplated capability of moving IP addresses may minimize the number of IP addresses allocated and/or the number of tunnels to be maintained.
Techniques for migrating legacy 911 systems to NG-911 systems
Disclosed are techniques for enabling an emergency call routing system. The system comprises a Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP) position center (VPC) server and a location information server (LIS). The VPC server may be configured to receive a session initiation protocol (SIP) INVITE for an emergency call intended for a destination public safety answering point (PSAP) from a telecommunication service provider (TSP) SIP call server. The VPC may also respond to the source of the SIP INVITE message with a SIP redirect response that includes routing data compatible with and capable of enabling the TSP SIP call server to route the emergency call to the destination PSAP. The LIS server may be configured to receive and store telephone number provisioning information from a TSP, the information including registered address data for the telephone number. The LIS may also receive and store PSAP capability data, the PSAP capability data indicative of the PSAP being i2 capable or i3 capable. For i2 capable PSAPs, the LIS may receive and respond to address requests for the telephone number that initiated the emergency call. For i3 capable PSAPs, the LIS may provide the VPC a PIDF-Lo formatted location object within the SIP redirect response.
Wireless Internet System and Method
A method, system, and apparatus, including a program encoded on computer-readable medium, for transmitting data to a server. A wireless communication connection is established between a first computing device and a second computing device. Data transmitted from the first computing device to the second computing device is received over the wireless communication connection and stored on the second computing device for uploading to a server on an IP based network. The wireless communication connection is disconnected. An IP communication connection is established between the second computing device and the server on the IP based network, and at least a portion of the stored data is transmitted from the second computing device to the server on the IP based network over the IP communication connection after the wireless communication connection between the first computing device and the second computing device is disconnected.
Method and apparatus for determining PDU session identity in wireless communication system
Disclosed are a method and apparatus for determining a PDU session identity in a wireless communication system. A method for determining, by a session management function (SMF) node, a packet data network (PDU) session identity during handover of user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, may include receiving a request message for requesting the establishment of a PDU session for the UE from an access and mobility management function (AMF) node, wherein a handover for the UE from a first wireless communication system to a second wireless communication system has been determined, determining a PDU session identity for the PDU session established for the UE when the request message is received, and sending a response message including the determined PDU session identity to the AMF node in response to the request message.
METHOD FOR REALIZING CONTINUED TRANSMISSION OF USER DATA DURING HANDOVER CROSSING MULTIPLE CELLS
Disclosed in the present disclosure is a method for realizing continued transmission of user data when a user station crosses multiple wireless network cells. The method includes: constructing a continuation guide table in an access point (AP) of a wireless network cell; when a user station crosses a first cell to a second cell, configuring the continuation guide tables in the AP of the first cell and the AP of the second cell; based on the continuation guide tables, building a data link of a network layer between an correspondent station of the user station and the user station located in a terminal cell; continuously transmitting data between the correspondent station of the user station and the user station in a source cell along the data link after the user station accesses the terminal cell. Further disclosed in the present disclosure is an access point device of a wireless network cell. According to the present disclosure, uninterrupted transmission of data streams can be realized for data being transmitted during a complex condition that a user station crosses a plurality of wireless network cells, thereby improving the user experience when a user surfs the internet using a wireless network.
