Placing a voice call includes: requesting, by the UE, to initiate the voice call traffic session; based on at least a first trigger event, transmitting voice packets over the signaling data pipe; and based on at least a second trigger event, ceasing to transmit voice packets over the signaling data pipe and transmitting voice packets over the voice call data pipe.
Method for accessing a service unavailable through a network cell
In an access device associated with a first network cell, a method for enabling user equipment (UE) to obtain a service unavailable through the first network cell includes receiving a request for the UE to access the service, and identifying, in a message to the UE, a plurality of second network cells providing the service.
Application Awareness Interworking
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for application awareness interworking between cellular systems. A wireless device may be configured to initiate an application during an ongoing procedure serviced by a first operating according to a first radio access technology (RAT), receive, from a first cellular system, an indication to switch to a second cellular system operating according to a second RAT, and delay the switch to the second cellular system until completion of the ongoing procedure. A network function may be configured to detect initiation of an application during an ongoing procedure serviced by a cellular system operating according to a first RAT, the application having associated application preferences, determine that the associated application preferences indicate a switch to a second cellular system operating according to a second RAT, and delay the switch to the second cellular system until completion of the ongoing procedure.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING CALL PERFORMANCE IN WIRELESS NETWORK
The present disclosure provides a method for improving call performance in a wireless network. The method includes sending an invite request to a server to initiate a Voice over New Radio (VoNR) service, where the UE is connected with a first network entity, and where the invite request comprises a media feature tag. The method includes initiating an Evolved Packet System fallback (EPS FB) service timer based on the media feature tag and a quality of service (QoS) timer and establishing a call over a second network entity using a dedicated bearer when the EPS FB command is received from the server. The call is established over the second network entity using the dedicated bearer by sending a service request to the server and/or sending an update request to the server when the EPS FB timer is expired and the EPS FB command is not received from the server.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR NETWORK SLICE-BASED HIGH PRIORITY SERVICE HANDLING IN RADIO ACCESS TECHNOLOGY (RAT) SWITCHING
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting initiation of a service associated with a UE, where the service comprises an OTT voice/video call, facilitating, for the service, activation of an end-to-end network slice between a core network and the UE, detecting a RAT switch determination for the UE, where the RAT switch determination relates to communicative coupling of the UE with a second network node, and where the second network node is associated with a second RAT different from the first RAT, responsive to the detecting the RAT switch determination, determining whether the service is ongoing over the end-to-end network slice, and, based on a determination that the service is ongoing over the end-to-end network slice, preventing the UE from communicatively coupling with the second network node until the service is determined to be completed or until the end-to-end network slice is released. Other embodiments are disclosed.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING INTERNET REACHABILITY MANAGEMENT WITH AID OF INDICATOR
A method for performing Internet reachability management and associated apparatus are provided. The method may include: establishing, by a processor of the UE, a first connection to a first access device; receiving, by the processor, an indicator complying with a first protocol sent from the first access device; in response to receiving the indicator, performing, by the processor, a reachability detection complying with a second protocol to generate a detection result; and in response to the detection result representing that a network is not reachable, performing at least one of: displaying, by a display of the UE, a message or icon to represent the first connection or the network is unavailable; disconnecting, by the processor, the first connection; and establishing, by the processor, a second connection to a second access device.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform detection and mitigation of data stalls. The mitigation may occur during and/or at initiation of a data connection. The wireless device may establish a data connection(s) with a network over a Wi-Fi or cellular interface and monitor the data connection(s) for a data stall condition(s)/hint(s). The wireless device may perform a remedial action(s) responsive to detection of a data stall condition(s)/hint(s), including initiating a service recovery of the cellular interface, initiating a radio access technology (RAT) upgrade procedure, and/or initiating a handover procedure to a neighbor cell.
Systems and methods for broadband failover in land mobile radio networks
Systems and methods for broadband failover in land mobile radio networks. One method includes operating a first communication interface of a converged communication device to execute a first communication between the device and a first network using an LMR modality. The method includes determining a plurality of radio communication characteristic values for each of a plurality of sites of the first network and generating a fallback threshold for a home site of the device based on the plurality of radio communications characteristics. The method includes determining whether a current radio communication characteristic value associated with a home site of the device exceeds the fallback threshold, and, when the current radio communication characteristic value does not exceed the fallback threshold, operating a second communication interface of the converged communication device to execute a second communication between the device and a second network using a non-LMR modality.
Voice Call Transfer Method and Electronic Device
A voice call transfer method includes when a target device receives an incoming voice call as a called party, displaying, on a call application interface, a device identifier of a first device that can perform voice call transfer, receiving a selection operation performed on the device identifier, triggering the target device to enter a voice call transfer mode, and sending first voice data from a calling party device to the first device when it is determined that the target device performs a voice call with the calling party device and is in the voice call transfer mode, so that the first device plays the first voice data.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR PROVIDING CALL FUNCTION AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
The disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for providing a call function in an electronic device. The electronic device includes first communication circuitry supporting new radio (NR) communication and/or long term evolution (LTE) communication, second communication circuitry supporting wireless local area network (LAN) communication, and at least one processor operatively connected to the first communication circuitry and the second communication circuitry. The processor may be configured to resister the electronic device with a network using the NR communication through the first communication circuitry, connect communication with an evolved packet data gateway (ePDG) based on a protocol data unit (PDU) session being identified as being connected over a network using wireless LAN communication in a state in which the electronic device has registered with the network using the NR communication, obtain information related to a call function of the network using the NR communication based on the communication connection with the ePDG, connect the PDU session over the network using the wireless LAN communication, and control the connection with the network using the NR communication based on the information related to the call function of the network using the NR communication.
