Data Forwarding Support in Dual Connectivity
20170359854 · 2017-12-14 ·

Data forwarding may be useful in many communication systems. Thus, for example, data forwarding support may be useful in dual connectivity in, for example, the third generation partnership project (3GPP) and more particularly to dual connectivity with enabled downlink (DL) data back forwarding. A method can include receiving, by a first network node, an indication indicating that for at least one split bearer, data received prior to the indication is to be forwarded to a second network node. The indication can also indicate that the at least one split bearer should be kept or maintained at the first network node. The method can also include, in response to the received indication, forwarding the data for the at least one split bearer received prior to the

The present disclosure provides a connection mode configuration method, a base station and a communication system. The configuration method includes: the CU-CP of the first base station determines a connection mode adopted by a UE after being switched to a second base station according to a UE capability of the UE and a connection mode supported by the CU-UP of the first base station, and sends a handover request to the second base station; the CU-CP indicates the CU-UP to update the bearer configuration according to the bearer configuration information included in the secondary base station adding request; the CU-CP generates the first access configuration information according to an updating result of the bearer configuration of the CU-UP and sends the first access configuration information to the second base station; the CU-CP indicates the CU-UP to update the bearer configuration according to the bearer configuration information.

Establishment of dual connectivity

The disclosure relates to methods for supporting establishment of dual connectivity for a wireless device, performed in a wireless communication network. The wireless device is connected to a first network element via a second network element. The second network element and the wireless device are communicating over a first wireless link. Network functions are split between the first network element and the second network element. The method performed in the wireless device comprises transmitting (2110) a request for a connection to a third network element which is a candidate network element for establishing DC, transmitting (2120) information identifying the first network element to the third network element, and transmitting (2130) an identifier of the wireless device to the third network element, for enabling the establishment of dual connectivity for the wireless device. The disclosure also relates to the methods performed in the network elements, and to the corresponding apparatus.

Node and method for managing a data flow between networks of different access types

Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a wireless device and core network node, as well as corresponding methods therein, for managing a data flow between a network access type 1 and a network access type 2. According to some examples, access type 1 may be a 3GPP access and access type 2 may be a non-3GPP access. The wireless device is connectable to both the networks of access types 1 and 2.

Modeling radio access networks

A method, a computer program product and a device, the method is for evaluating a state of a radio access network (RAN), and may include parsing control plane massages that are exchanged between the RAN and a core network that is coupled to the RAN; and determining, by an edge bandwidth manager, a current state of the RAN based on the control plane massages.

Apparatus and methods for group wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) handover

Apparatus and methods of handing over a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) that belongs to a group of WTRUs from an originating base station to a target base station are described. A method includes the WTRU obtaining information regarding a group to which the WTRU has been assigned and the WTRU receiving at least one of handover reconfiguration information that is common to the group and handover reconfiguration information that is specific to the WTRU. On a condition that the WTRU receives the handover reconfiguration information that is specific to the WTRU, the WTRU initiates a synchronization procedure with the target base station based at least on the received handover reconfiguration information.
