COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE, COMMUNICATIONS NODES IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICAITONS NETWORK AND METHODS

A method of operating a source node of a wireless network for controlling handover of a device from the source node to a target node of the wireless network is provided. The method comprises selecting, by the source node, to handover the device from the source node to the target node at a future time on a basis of a predicted location of the device at the future time; transmitting, by the source node, a pre-configuration message to the device including a configuration for the handover of the device from the source node to the target node at the future time; and arranging, by the source node, for the device to receive a trigger instructing the device to handover from the source node to the target node at the future time.

LOGGING INFORMATION RELATED TO MULTIPLE-EVENT CONDITIONAL HANDOVER EXECUTION FOR WIRELESS NETWORKS

According to an example embodiment, a method may include logging, by a user device in a wireless network, information related to a multiple-event conditional handover execution, wherein the multiple-event conditional handover execution is based on a joint evaluation of multiple events by the user device; and sending, by the user device, a report including at least a portion of the information.

CHO IN DC (DUAL CONNECTIVITY)
20230007553 · 2023-01-05 ·

A method performed by a User Equipment (UE) for handling a Conditional Handover (CHO) from a first cell to a second cell in a wireless communications network. The UE is served by a Master Node (MN), in the first cell and by a Secondary Node (SN) in a third cell. The UE receives a CHO configuration from the first network node acting as the MN. The CHO configuration includes an indication to release configurations of any one or more out of: Multi Radio Access Technology Dual Connectivity (MR-DC), and SN terminated bearers. Upon execution of the CHO according to the CHO configuration, the UE releases the MR-DC configuration and/or a configuration for SN terminated bearers.

HANDOVER METHOD AND APPARATUS, DEVICES AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Disclosed are a handover method and apparatus, devices and a storage medium. The method includes: receiving configuration information from a network device, the configuration information including multiple sets of handover configuration information, each set of the multiple sets of handover configuration information being associated with a service situation, and the handover configuration information being used to configure an operation related to cell handover; obtaining a current service situation; determining, from the multiple sets of handover configuration information, target handover configuration information according to the current service situation; and performing the operation related to cell handover according to the target handover configuration information.

Handover

A first base station receives, from a second base station, positioning capability information of the second base station. The first base station receives, from a wireless device, a measurement report. The first base station sends, to the second base station, a handover request message including a request for position information of the wireless device. The sending is based on the measurement report. The sending is based on the positioning capability information of the second base station.

WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY MANAGEMENT AND HANDOFF CONTROL
20230007545 · 2023-01-05 ·

A communication management system (such as hardware and/or executed software) receives performance information indicating wireless connectivity performance between a communication device and a set of candidate wireless access points. The communication device is initially in communication with a first wireless access point over a wireless link. Based on the performance information, the communication management system selects a candidate wireless access point from the set in which to performance a handoff. The communication management hardware the notifies the communication device to handoff the wireless link from the first wireless access point to the selected candidate wireless access point.

Multi-stage handover

Systems and methods for enabling a handover decision are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising configuring a UE with a first offset and a second offset, the second offset greater than the first offset; instructing the UE to enter a handover decision state upon receiving a first measurement report from a UE indicating that a neighbor cell has a better received signal strength than the serving cell by the first offset; instructing the UE to send periodic measurement reports with signal strength of the serving cell and the neighbor cell; delaying handover decision by remaining in the handover decision state until receiving a second measurement report from the UE; and instructing the UE to hand over to the neighbor cell when the neighbor cell has a better received signal strength than the serving cell than the second offset.
