Method and apparatus for performing membership verification or access control in wireless communication system
A method and apparatus for performing a membership verification or an access control in a wireless communication system is provided. A mobility management entity (MME) performs the membership verification or the access control of a user equipment (UE), and transmits verified UE membership information to a target HeNB.
Methods and apparatus for selection of dedicated core network
Methods and apparatuses for redirecting a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to a dedicated core network (CN) node are described. An apparatus is configured to initiate a Service Request with a non-dedicated network node. The apparatus is configured to receive a special identifier in response to the Service Request, which indicates the apparatus should be redirected to a dedicated CN node based on subscription information. Radio access network resources associated with the apparatus may be released and the apparatus may then perform a tracking area update (TAU) request which is then forwarded to the dedicated CN node.
IuGW architecture
Systems and methods are disclosed for a 3G gateway. In one embodiment, a system is disclosed, comprising a gateway situated between a 3G radio access network (RAN) and a core network, the gateway providing resource management for a nodeB, and providing routing and node management for another base station, wherein the base station may be configured to provide, as a virtual RNC, radio resource control, power control, ciphering, and multiplexing of multiple users onto a transmission path for a first mobile device attached to the nodeB; the gateway may be configured to relay traffic for a second mobile device attached to the base station; and the gateway may be configured to relay traffic to the core network from both the nodeB and the base station via an IuCS interface and an IuPS interface.
Inactive state data forwarding
A base station receives from a first core network entity, packet(s) for a wireless device in an RRC inactive state. The base station initiates a RAN paging procedure comprising sending RAN paging message(s) to second base station(s). The RAN paging message(s) comprises a first identifier of the wireless device. The base station determines a failure of the RAN paging procedure in response to not receiving a response of the RAN paging message(s). The base station sends a first message to a second core network entity in response to the failure of the RAN paging procedure. The base station receives a second message from the second core network entity in response to the first message. The second message comprises a tunnel endpoint identifier of a third base station for forwarding the packet(s). The base station sends to the third base station, the packet(s) based on the tunnel endpoint identifier.
METHOD AND TERMINAL FOR SUPPORTING SERVICE CONTINUITY AFTER PERFORMING HANDOVER
One disclosure of the present specification provides a method for supporting service continuity after a terminal performs a handover. The method may comprise: a step of transmitting, when re-assigned from a source user plane (UP) functional node to a target UP functional node in accordance with performing a handover to a target base station, a PDU session creation request message to create a new PDU session with the target UP functional node; a step of receiving a PDU session creation response message including a newly allocated second IP address; a step of transmitting a tunneling request message including information on the newly allocated second IP address and information on a service flow requiring service continuity; and a step of encapsulating a packet, which has been generated with an existing first IP address by an upper layer of the terminal, with a new second IP address by a lower layer of the terminal and transmitting the encapsulated packet to the tunneling entity.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPTIMIZING HANDOVERS FOR BETTER QUALITY OF SERVICE FOR USERS IN A NETWORK OF MOVING THINGS
Communication network architectures, systems and methods for supporting a network of mobile nodes. As a non-limiting example, various aspects of this disclosure provide communication network architectures, systems, and methods for supporting a dynamically configurable communication network comprising a complex array of both static and moving communication nodes (e.g., the Internet of moving things). Specifically, there is disclosed optimizing methods for handing off or connecting a mobile user to different access points.
APPARATUS AND METHOD RELATED TO RADIO ACCESS NETWORK
To enable a prompt increase in throughput of a terminal apparatus immediately after handover. An apparatus of the present invention includes: an acquisition unit 145 configured to acquire a response message for a handover message from a source base station (base station 200) of handover of a terminal apparatus 300, the response message including information of uplink resources related to measurement for the terminal apparatus 300; and a first communication processing unit 141 configured to transmit the response message for the handover message to the source base station (base station 200).
Method and apparatus for enhancing inter-MeNB handover without SeNB change in wireless communication system
In an inter-master eNB (MeNB) handover procedure without secondary eNB (SeNB) change, a user equipment (UE) receives a SeNB kept indicator indicating that a SeNB has been kept successfully from a source MeNB. Upon receiving the SeNB kept indicator, the UE determines that the SeNB has been kept successfully in the inter-MeNB handover without SeNB change, and skips the random access procedure to the SeNB.
PROCESSING STATE INFORMATION
A method of operating a user equipment in a communications system including at least one cell that is controlled by a radio access node. The method includes maintaining current state information relating to the user equipment, the state information including at least one state information part associated with features for which state information reporting is configured in at least one cell, at least one state information part being associable with a plurality of different values, receiving an indication from the radio access node regarding state information held by the radio access node relating to the user equipment, determining whether to report current state information relating to the radio access node on the basis of the received indication, and reporting a current value associated with at least a given state information part to the radio access node.
Transmission Method, Base Station, and Terminal
A transmission method, a base station, and a terminal. The method includes sending, by a source base station, a handover command to a terminal, where the handover command triggers a process of handing over the terminal from the source base station to a target base station, and the source base station maintains user data transmission with the terminal, and, in the handover process, when maintaining of the user data transmission between the source base station and the terminal is stopped, sending, by the source base station, a first status report to the terminal, where the first status report indicates, to the terminal, a status of receiving uplink data of the terminal by the source base station.
