Network switching method, network device, and terminal device

Provided are a network switching method, a network device, and a terminal device. The method comprises: a network device acquiring channel quality state information, the channel quality state information being used to reflect the channel quality of a second network; and when the network device determines that a first service ends or a serving network of a terminal device does not support the first service, determining, according to the channel quality state information, whether to switch the serving network from a first network to the second network.

Artificial intelligence (AI) management of roaming service provider agreements for offloading voice calls from cellular networks to Wi-Fi hotspots
11184823 · 2021-11-23 · ·

Requests for roaming service agreements intended for an ANQP server to initiate offloading an ongoing voice call from a cellular network associated with a SP for the station to the Wi-Fi network are received. A connection is made if the SP matches a list of SP providers for which the AP has a roaming service agreement. Responsive to not matching the list of SP providers, the SP miss and location data of the station is stored. Statistics concerning stored AP misses and identifying a threshold being met for a particular SP are generated. AI identifies SP updates needed from statistics concerning SP misses for the particular SP for which no roaming service agreement has been established with the AP.

A method of an access and mobility function (AMF) for state management in a wireless communication system is provided. The method comprises determining a state of at least one state machine, receiving, from a target access network (AN), an N2 path switch request message based on the state of the at least one state machine, transmitting, to a session management function (SMF), an N11 message, and transmitting, to the target AN, an N2 path switch request acknowledgement (Ack) message when receiving an N11 Ack message, from the SMF, corresponding to the N11 message, wherein the target AN transmits a release resource message to a source AN when the target AN receives the N2 path switch request Ack message.

OPERATION METHOD OF COMMUNICATION NODE IN MILLIMETER WAVE BASED COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An operation method of a communication node in a millimeter-wave based communication system may comprise when a first communication path between the second base station and the terminal connected to the first base station is not established, transmitting a radio resource control (RRC) request message requesting establishment of the first communication path to the second base station via the first base station; receiving an RRC response message from the second base station via the first base station, the RRC response message being a response to the RRC request message; and establishing the first communication path based on the RRC response message.

Parameter conversions between an evolved packet system network and a 5G network

This application provides a parameter determining method and a communications entity. The method includes: When a UE is in a system in which an evolved packet system (EPS) network and a 5GS network interwork, the UE is currently located in the 5GS network, and QoS parameters used include an authorized UE aggregate maximum bit rate (AMBR) and an authorized session AMBR of a session. Because of movement of the UE, the UE needs to be handed over to the EPS network, and QoS parameters that need to be used for the UE in the EPS network include an authorized UE AMBR and an authorized access point name (APN) AMBR. The authorized APN AMBR is determined by a first communications entity based on at least one of a subscribed APN AMBR or the authorized session AMBR of the PDU session, and the authorized UE AMBR is determined by a second communications entity based on the authorized APN AMBR.

Expedited retransmission during call setup

Systems, devices, and techniques described herein relate to selectively implementing an expedited retransmission time. In some examples, a call setup message is transmitted to a first network system associated with a first network access technology. A transfer request may be received from the first network system. The transfer request may indicate handover or redirection to a second network system associated with a second network access technology. Upon expiration of the expedited retransmission time after receiving the transfer request, the call setup message can be retransmitted to the second network system.

Bearer translation

A method for default bearer translation with GBR bearer translation. A GBR bearer is known in UE, 5G-RAN, and SMFs from the existing QoS flow parameters from one or more QoS flows for a PDU session that includes an assigned value for guaranteed bit rate. In case a PDU session has multiple associated QoS flows that each include an assigned value for GBR, then each flow is determined as a candidate GBR bearer for the target E-UTRAN access. Each GBR bearer candidate is arranged in a priority order based on, for example, the QoS flow parameters (e.g., ARP), and the resulting EPS QCI when translating QoS flow parameters in 5G to a 4G representation. Hence common priority rules for 1:1 mapping between 5G representation and 4G representation can be used by the nodes having knowledge of the PDU session and the QoS flows characterized as GBR QoS flows.

METHOD FOR ACCESSING A SERVICE UNAVAILABLE THROUGH A NETWORK CELL

A method performed by user equipment (UE) includes receiving a request to access a service unavailable through a first network cell associated with the UE and informing a second network cell that the UE is requesting to obtain the service unavailable through the first network cell. The request may be received from a user of the UE or may be a paging message.

DUAL NETWORK GEOGRAPHICAL RADIO CONFIGURATION

Systems, methods, and computer readable mediums for configuring a radio system to provide network service access based on a location of the radio system. The radio system can identify the location and send a location signal indicating its location over a first network. The radio system can receive, over the first network, first configuration data for communicating over a second network based on its location. The radio system can configure itself to communicate over the second network using the first configuration data and subsequently provide network service access over the second network according to the first configuration data.
