The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The present disclosure relates to a method of supporting a network slice of a network and a user equipment (UE) when the UE moves between a 4G network and a 5G network in the 3GPP 5G network technology.

Communication apparatus and communication method

There is provided an apparatus comprising means for: translating between a first communication apparatus and a first wireless communication network operating as at least part of a bridge between the first communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus; determining that the first and/or second communication apparatus is undergoing or has undergone a mobility event; and executing at least part of a mobility procedure resulting from the mobility event.

UE capability signaling to support 5G new radio (NR) in unlicensed spectrum (NR-U)

A method for UE capability signaling to support NR-U is proposed. A UE transfers UE capability information to a mobile communication network, and the UE capability information includes information regarding whether the UE supports system information acquisition on an unlicensed cell. The UE receives configuration from a serving cell of the mobile communication network, and the configuration includes information for system information acquisition of one or more unlicensed cells on a frequency. The UE acquires system information of the one or more unlicensed cells on the frequency and reports the acquired system information to the serving cell, or stores the acquired system information in the UE.

METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR HANDLING THE CONFIGURATION OF MEASUREMENTS TO BE PERFORMED BY A USER EQUIPMENT IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK

A method performed by a first base station, is described. The first base station determines a change in one or more measurements to be performed by a UE. The measurements are associated with a first set of frequencies. The first base station also transmits a first message to a second base station comprising information regarding which frequencies in the first set are to be changed. The first base station and the second base station serve the UE. A method performed by the second base station is also described whereby the second base station receives the first message. In a method performed by the UE, the UE receives, from the first base station, a configuration message configured to specify the measurements to perform and a measurement gap configuration. The UE then takes the measurements based on the configuration message.

Autonomous Cell Measurements

This disclosure relates to techniques for a wireless device to autonomously perform certain cell measurements in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may establish a wireless link with a cellular base station. The wireless link may be established according to a first radio access technology. The wireless device may determine whether at least one cell that operates according to a second radio access technology is available at the current location of the wireless device based on information stored by the wireless device. If at least one cell that operates according to the second radio access technology is available, the wireless device may perform one or more cell measurements on a cell that operates according to the second radio access technology.

Processing state information

A method of processing state information relating to user equipment in a communications system comprising a radio access network, the method comprising: maintaining current state information relating to the user equipment; and on the basis of a change of connection of the user equipment from a first cell to a second cell: transmitting a current value associated with a given state information part to the target radio access node in response to detecting at least one of one or more predetermined triggers that indicate that the target radio access node may not have received the current value from the source radio access node; or relying on the target radio access node having received the current value from the source radio access node if said at least one of said one or more predetermined triggers is not detected.

In order to prevent deterioration of QoE of a user in intersystem handover, an apparatus according to the present invention includes: an information obtaining unit configured to obtain network slice related information related to a network slice used by a terminal apparatus in a first radio communication system; and a first communication processing unit configured to transmit, to a second network node of a second radio communication system, a message for intersystem handover of the terminal apparatus from the first radio communication system to the second radio communication system, the message including the network slice related information.

Status data unit enhancement for retransmission of packets in handover procedure

Certain aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes receiving at least one first packet of a sequence of packets from a source cell, the at least one first packet being dependent on at least one second packet of the sequence of packets for decoding, performing a handover from the source cell to a target cell, determining that the at least one second packet of the sequence of packets was not received from the source cell, generating a message requesting a retransmission from the target cell for the at least one first packet and the at least one second packet based on the determination, and transmitting the message to the target cell.
