Reporting Failures of Conditional Handover Mobility Operations

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment, UE, for reporting failures related to mobility operations by the UE to a network node in a radio access network, RAN. Such methods include logging (1210) information associated with a plurality of failures during conditional handover, CHO, operations related to a source cell and one or more first target cells. Such methods also include, after a successful mobility operation to a second target cell served by the network node, reporting (1240) the logged information, associated with the plurality of failures, to the network node. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a network node, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

TERMINAL APPARATUS, BASE STATION APPARATUS, AND METHOD
20230040867 · 2023-02-09 ·

A terminal apparatus for communicating with a base station apparatus is provided. The terminal apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive, from the base station apparatus, a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration message including a parameter related to first configuration, and a processing unit configured to perform configuration in accordance with the RRC reconfiguration message received. In a case that a first timer of an RRC protocol expires, a radio link failure of a source primary cell is not detected, and configuration related to Dual Active Protocol Stack (DAPS) handover is performed for the terminal apparatus, the processing unit stops all of timers configured for a Radio Link Control (RLC) entity of a Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) in the source primary cell, resumes the SRB suspended in the source primary cell, and transmits an RRC message for notifying the base station apparatus that the DAPS handover has failed.

Wireless access node fault recovery using integrated access and backhaul

A network controller monitors a wireless access node for a fault. The wireless access node experiences the fault and scans for wireless Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) service. The network controller detects the fault and directs a neighbor access node to deliver the wireless IAB service. The neighbor access node delivers the wireless IAB service in response to the network controller. The wireless access node detects the wireless IAB service from the neighbor access node and exchanges fault data with the network controller using the wireless IAB service delivered by the neighbor access node. The network controller exchanges the fault data with the wireless access node using the wireless IAB service delivered by the neighbor access node. An Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) or a User Plane Function (UPF) may detect a lack of signaling or data from the wireless access node to detect the fault.

MOBILITY FAILURE EVIDENCE-RELATED OPERATIONS

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for mobility failure evidence-related operations. A UE may measure, record, and report a channel access waiting (CAW) time period that elapsed from having a handover-related message in a transmission buffer until a channel for transmission of the handover-related message was obtained or until an acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement from a receiver of the handover-related message was received. The CAW time period information may be provided to a network node, and the network node may control mobility robustness optimization based on the received information.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPROVING HANDOVER PERFORMANCE IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An operation method of a terminal in a communication system may comprise: receiving a first occurrence reporting condition of a handover problem from a source base station; performing a handover from the source base station to a target base station; identifying whether a handover problem occurs based on the first occurrence reporting condition while performing the handover; and in response to identifying that a handover problem occurs, transmitting information indicating the occurrence of the handover problem to the target base station.
