Cell-based backup for recovering from system failures in a multi-tenant computing system
A multi-tenant computing system provides services to a number of different tenant organizations. To address the problem of failure of portions of the system, the hardware infrastructure of the system is located at a number of different geographical locations. The various tenants are assigned to one of a set of “cells,” each cell corresponding to one of the geographical locations. Additionally, each cell has another one of the cells assigned to it as a backup cell, and the data of each cell is replicated within its assigned backup cell. At system run time, if a failure is detected within one of the cells, the network redirection is used within the multi-tenant system to reflect that the backup cell for the failing cell is now handling requests for the failing cell. Upon determination that the failing cell has been repaired and is now again correctly functioning, the network redirection is no longer employed, such that the (formerly) failing cell again handles its own requests.
RSS MEASUREMENT IN CASE OF UNKNOWN NUMBER OF CRS PORTS
A communications device configured to receive a first re-synchronisation signal, RSS, to receive an indication of a position in time and frequency of an RSS of each of one or more first neighbouring cells, to determine that a number of cell-specific reference signal, CRS, ports of one of the first neighbouring cells is not known by the communications device, to carry out a measurement on the first cell, to carry out a measurement using the RSS of the one of the neighbouring cells, wherein the measurement is carried out using the RSS of the one of the neighbouring cells in accordance with a default number of CRS ports, and to determine, if a trigger condition has not been met, that the one of the first neighbouring cells is not a suitable candidate cell for reselection by the communications device.
UE Assisted Mobility Management
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for UE assisted mobility management. A UE may receive, from a network, an initial list of measurement cells, filter the initial list of measurement cells based on criteria to generate an optimized cell list, perform cell measurements based on the optimized cell list, and report, to the network, cell measurements based on the optimized cell list. The criteria may be based, at least in part, on at least one of UE location, UE mobility pattern, and/or UE privacy preservation. The UE may use a geolocation and/or a mobility pattern of the UE and geolocations of cells to filter out cells. The UE may use a privacy preservation algorithm on a previously filtered list of measurement cells to filter out cells to avoid allowing the network to estimate a geolocation of the UE based on the reported measurements.
Method for controlling terminal to use wireless network and related device
This application provides a method for controlling a terminal to use a wireless network, a system, and a related device. The method includes: obtaining, by a network decision device, service information of a terminal, constructing network use indication information, and delivering the network use indication information to a network trigger device; and triggering, by the network trigger device based on the network use indication information, the terminal to use a wireless network corresponding to the service information. According to the method, an operator can assign, based on a service requirement of the operator, the terminal to use a specific wireless network, so that the terminal can use in time a wireless network that is consistent with a requirement of the operator. This helps improve network use efficiency for the operator, and can prevent a service of the terminal from being affected.
Wireless communication handover responsive to uplink interference at a serving cell
In a wireless User Equipment (UE), a serving radio wirelessly exchanges data with a serving cell over a serving radio band. The wireless UE wirelessly receives serving signaling that indicates serving uplink interference for the serving radio band at the serving cell. A neighbor radio in the UE wirelessly receives neighbor signaling. UE circuitry determines serving signal strength and the serving uplink interference for the serving cell. The UE circuitry determines neighbor signal strength for the neighbor cell. The UE circuitry compares the serving uplink interference and the serving signal strength to the neighbor signal strength, and in response, generates a handover request for the neighbor cell. The serving radio wirelessly transfers the handover request to the serving cell, and in response, the neighbor radio wirelessly exchanges additional data with the neighbor cell over the neighbor radio band.
Measurement reporting method and device
An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a measurement reporting method and device. The method includes: starting a timer according to a measurement configuration of a target cell transmitted by a network side; determining, before the timer expires, that identification information of the target cell cannot be obtained; and reporting, to the network side, that the identification information of the target cell cannot be obtained by the UE.
CELL SELECTION USING MULTIPLE FACTORS
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform measurements on a plurality of cells. The UE may order the plurality of cells based at least in part on multiple factors including at least a cell selection condition, the cell selection condition indicating a threshold for the measurement for cell selection. The UE may select, based at least in part on the ordering, a cell from the plurality of cells. The UE may camp on the selected cell. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Method of adding secondary cell group, terminal device, and master node
A method of adding a secondary cell group, a terminal device, and a main node are provided. The method of adding a secondary cell group includes: receiving conditional-addition SCG information sent by a master node; evaluating, according to the conditional-addition SCG information, whether one or more target cells in an SCG meet a condition corresponding to triggering addition of a target cell, and obtaining a result of the evaluation; triggering, according to the result of the evaluation, a process of adding a SCG target cell.

Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) and/or cellular network to perform to perform cell detection and measurement, e.g., in new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U). The UE may determine that a threshold condition related to missed reference signal opportunities is reached. In response, the UE may modify reference signal monitoring and/or measurement.
Communication Method and Device
Embodiments of this application provide a communication method and a device. The communication method and the device may be used in the field of a communication technology that supports a reduced capability terminal device, for example, weak-capability UE or MTC UE. The method includes: A first network device determines that a type of a first terminal device is a first type. The first network device sends a handover request message. The handover request message includes first indication information. The first indication information includes identifier information of the first type. The first network device receives a handover acknowledgment message or a handover preparation failure message.
