20180359666 · 2018-12-13 ·

A time synchronization method, and device are described. The method includes determining a target base station from neighboring base stations of a source base station; determining, based on a preset handover condition and from first user equipments (UEs) connected to the source base station, a to-be-handed-over UE that needs to be handed over to the target base station; triggering the to-be-handed-over UE to be handed over from the source base station to the target base station; and performing time synchronization with the target base station in a handover process of the to-be-handed-over UE. The to-be-handed-over UE is triggered to be handed over to the pre-determined target base station. This implements time synchronization with the target base station, resolves relatively low flexibility of time synchronization between base stations in a related technology, and improves flexibility of time synchronization between the source base station and the target base station.

Triggering performance level re-configuration in radio base stations

A method performed in a network node for triggering a performance level re-configuration in a target radio base station, RBS, prior to handover of a wireless device to the target RBS. The method comprises determining if a need for performance level re-configuration of the target RBS exists, and if need for performance level re-configuration of the target RBS exists, transmitting, to the target RBS, a re-configuration alert message, thereby enabling a performance level re-configuration in the target RBS prior to handover of the wireless device to the target RBS.

Method and apparatus for establishing group cell on basis of measurement signal variation

The present specification suggests a method for establishing a terminal-centric group cell on the basis of measurement signal variation for cooperative transmission and handover in a mobile communication system. Specifically, a base station receives transmissions of parameters from a terminal, configures a terminal surrounding cell information table, and configures a cooperative cell cluster configuration table using the terminal surrounding cell information table as the terminal moves. The base station performs cooperative transmission and handover using the cooperative cell cluster configuration table. The terminal sends parameters to the base station periodically or when a certain condition is met, and the base station updates the terminal surrounding cell information table and the cooperative cell cluster configuration table using the parameters sent from the terminal to thereby use the same for mobility management.

ASSIGNMENT OF HIERARCHICAL CELL STRUCTURES EMPLOYING GEOLOCATION TECHNIQUES

Distance is employed to facilitate sector selection and re-selection in a network during handoff. A system receives measurement information for a mobile device. The measurement information includes information indicative of a geographical location of the mobile device. The system determines information indicative of a geographical location of a cell site to which the mobile device is assigned. The system then selects a sector of the cell site with which to associate the mobile device. The selection of the sector is based, at least, on a distance determined between the mobile device and the cell site. In various embodiments, the distance information is determined based on the latitude and longitude of the mobile device. In various embodiments, the morphology of the terrain for the area in which the mobile device is located is factored into the determination of the sector.
