20230224768 · 2023-07-13 ·

An apparatus for wireless communication of a UE is disclosed. The apparatus may initiate, at a new radio (NR) serving cell, a voice session with an IMS. The apparatus may perform, in response to determining that voice over NR (VoNR) is not supported by the first NR cell, an EPS fallback procedure to establish the voice session with the IMS. The apparatus may update a whitelist of NR cells that support VoNR to include the first NR cell when it is determined that the first NR cell supports VoNR.

RELAXATION OF MEASUREMENTS FOR FAILURE DETECTION
20230224750 · 2023-07-13 ·

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to relaxing measurements for failure detection in a cell. In example embodiments, a device performs measurements on one or more reference signals on one or more measurement occasions and determines one or more reference signal received power, RSRP, levels of a cell based on the measurements on the one or more reference signals. Further, the device determines one or more reference RSRP levels reflecting radio link quality or beam quality, one of the reference RSRP levels being associated with one of the determined one or more RSRP levels of the cell. The device evaluates a relaxation criterion based on the one or more reference RSRP levels and the one or more determined RSRP levels of the cell. Moreover, the device relaxes measurements for failure detection in the cell, if it is evaluated that the relaxation criterion has been fulfilled for a time period.

RSS MEASUREMENT IN CASE OF UNKNOWN NUMBER OF CRS PORTS

A communications device configured to receive a first re-synchronisation signal, RSS, to receive an indication of a position in time and frequency of an RSS of each of one or more first neighbouring cells, to determine that a number of cell-specific reference signal, CRS, ports of one of the first neighbouring cells is not known by the communications device, to carry out a measurement on the first cell, to carry out a measurement using the RSS of the one of the neighbouring cells, wherein the measurement is carried out using the RSS of the one of the neighbouring cells in accordance with a default number of CRS ports, and to determine, if a trigger condition has not been met, that the one of the first neighbouring cells is not a suitable candidate cell for reselection by the communications device.

UE Assisted Mobility Management

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for UE assisted mobility management. A UE may receive, from a network, an initial list of measurement cells, filter the initial list of measurement cells based on criteria to generate an optimized cell list, perform cell measurements based on the optimized cell list, and report, to the network, cell measurements based on the optimized cell list. The criteria may be based, at least in part, on at least one of UE location, UE mobility pattern, and/or UE privacy preservation. The UE may use a geolocation and/or a mobility pattern of the UE and geolocations of cells to filter out cells. The UE may use a privacy preservation algorithm on a previously filtered list of measurement cells to filter out cells to avoid allowing the network to estimate a geolocation of the UE based on the reported measurements.

METHOD, PRODUCT AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING MASTER CELL GROUP, MCG, FAILURE AND RADIO LINK FAILURE, RLF, REPORTING

A method (400) for reporting radio link failure, RLF, information. The method includes a user equipment, UE, detecting (s402) an RLF with respect to a master cell group, MCG. The method also includes, in response to detecting the RLF with respect to the MCG, the UE storing (s404) RLF information. The method also includes the UE sending (s406) a first message comprising MCG failure information, e.g., the RLF information, and activating a timer. The method also includes the UE receiving (s408) a second message after sending the first message and activating the timer. The method also includes the UE, in response to receiving the second message, determining (s410) that a condition is satisfied, wherein determining that the condition is satisfied comprises at least determining that the timer is still running. The method also includes, as a result of determining that the condition is satisfied, the UE deleting (s412) the RLF information.

Conditional Reconfiguration based on Data Traffic

Embodiments include methods for a UE to perform mobility operations in a wireless network based on conditions related to data traffic. Such methods include receiving, from a network node, one or more conditional reconfigurations. Each includes a reconfiguration message associated with a candidate target cell and one or more execution conditions that need to be fulfilled to apply the reconfiguration message when performing a mobility operation, including at least one first execution condition related to UE data traffic and/or to one or more UE applications. Such methods include monitoring for the execution conditions in the conditional reconfigurations and based on detecting fulfillment of one or more execution conditions in a particular conditional measurement configuration, performing a mobility operation towards the candidate target cell associated with the reconfiguration message in the particular conditional measurement configuration. Other embodiments include complementary methods by a network node, as well as UEs and network nodes
