METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ESTABLISHING RADIO BEARER
A method of establishing a radio bearer by a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of communication systems is provided. The method includes: receiving first core information related to a plurality of core networks from an evolved NodeB (eNB); selecting one of the plurality of core networks based on the first core information; transmitting second core information related to the selected core network to the eNB; and establishing a Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) corresponding to the selected core network.
Mobile radio communication system
A mobile radio communication system having a mobile radio communication network and a mobile radio subscriber appliance, wherein a unit in the network layer of the core network of the mobile radio communication network is configured to transmit to the mobile radio subscriber appliance a first message, based on an occurrence of a predetermined event, with a request for a statement which describes at least one radio characteristic of the mobile radio subscriber appliance.
Enabling IP carrier peering
Methods and systems may provide carrier ENUM based routing for subscriber devices (e.g., voice or other multimedia services over IP) to locate and to connect to subscriber devices of another IP peering carrier. A private ENUM database may be used to connect subscribers of disparate carriers using a domain for designated breakout gateway control functions.
High efficiency distributed device-to-device (D2D) channel access
Techniques for facilitating device-to-device (D2D) communications using a high efficiency distributed channel access scheme are generally described herein. In some examples, a communication zone allocated for wireless D2D communications is divided into resource contention and scheduled transmission portions. The resource contention segment may be used to transmit a request message from a transmitting device to a receiving device (a request-to-send message), and transmit a response to the request message from the receiving device to the transmitting device (a clear-to-send message). The response can indicate a time for the data transmission to occur during the scheduled transmission segment. During the scheduled transmission segment, the scheduled data transmission and other D2D data transmissions among the various devices will be performed. In further examples, contention access techniques may be used during the resource contention segment to manage access to the resource channel.
Network Handover Method, Terminal Device and Network Device
A network handover method, a terminal device, and a network device are provided. The method includes: a terminal device determines that handover from a first core network to a second core network needs to be performed; the terminal device configures a protocol layer according to core network types of the first core network and the second core network.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DIRECTING WIRELESS RESOURCES IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, accessing first information for a first wireless access device associated with a first wireless access network in first communication with a portable communication device and accessing second information for a second wireless access device associated with a second wireless access network. A determination is made according to the first information and the second information, to facilitate second communication between the portable communication device and the second wireless access network via the second wireless access device. A first portion of a first geographic area associated with the second wireless access device is covered via a directional capability responsive to a determination to facilitate the second communication between the portable communication device and the second wireless access network. The directional capability facilitates the second communication between the portable communication device and the second wireless access device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Inter-Network Change Method and Apparatus, and Related Device
An inter-network change method and apparatus, and a related device are disclosed. In the inter-network change method, a terminal determines second network slice information to which first network slice information is mapped, where the first network slice information is information about a first network slice accessed by the terminal, the second network slice information is information about a second network slice, the first network slice is a network slice in a first network, and the second network slice is a network slice in a second network. The terminal sends a request message to the second network and receives an accept message returned by the second network, so that the terminal accesses a network slice identified by network slice information accepted by the second network. It can be learned that embodiments of the present invention can implement a handover operation between network slices of different networks.
Method for traffic steering and network element
The present invention relates a method for traffic steering in a communication network comprising at least two technology layers. The method comprising utilizing one or more policies for traffic steering, selecting one or more users in a first technology layer according to the selected policies and preparing a movement of one or more selected users to a second technology layer. Moreover, the present invention relates to an apparatus and computer program product.
Reporting Inter-RAT Mobility Failures
Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to report failure of an inter-radio access technology (RAT) mobility procedure from a source cell to a target cell. Such methods include receiving, from a source node serving the source cell, a command to perform an inter-RAT mobility procedure towards the target cell, which uses a different RAT than the source cell. Such methods include detecting a failure associated with the inter-RAT mobility procedure. The failure cause is either the UE was unable to comply with a configuration included in the command or a protocol error associated with inter-RAT information included in the command. Such methods include sending a failure report, including an indication of the failure cause, to a node serving a cell the UE connected to after detecting the failure. Other embodiments include complementary methods for network nodes, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.
Dual radio operation between access systems using 3GPP radio access technology
Systems and methods of providing 5G access for a UE are generally described. The UE is simultaneously connected via dual radio operation to a legacy and 5G access system. The UE mobility management states for the access systems are independent of each other. The EPC and 5G CN share an HSS and may share a IP anchor. When handover occurs between access systems, the IP address is retained and the IP anchor used when the UE transmits an Attach Request having a Handover Attach Request Type and otherwise a new IP address is provided and the HSS but not the IP anchor is common between the access systems. The 5G eNB to which the UE is connected is standalone and connected to the 5G CN or dual mode and connected with an EPC via an LTE anchor in addition to the 5G CN.
