The method includes receiving, by a user equipment, measurement configuration information configured by a network side, and selecting a serving cell according to the measurement configuration information; and measuring, by the user equipment, the selected serving cell according to the measurement configuration information, and when determining that a measurement result of the serving cell meets the trigger event, sending, by the user equipment to the network side according to an indication of the measurement configuration information, a measurement report that carries the trigger event.
METHOD FOR INITIATING HANDOVER, WIRELESS DEVICE AND BASE STATION
The present disclosure provides a method in a wireless device for initiating a handover from a source base station to a target base station. The method includes calculating a power offset indicative of a difference between a receiving power from the target base station and a receiving power from the source base station. A Time Division Duplex (TDD) configuration difference is obtained between a TDD configuration of the target base station and a TDD configuration of the source base station. A TDD offset is calculated based on the TDD configuration difference and an uplink-downlink traffic model of the wireless device. The handover is initiated based on a combination of the power offset and the TDD offset exceeding a threshold. The present disclosure also provides a wireless device, a method in a base station and a base station.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING MOBILITY OF TERMINAL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A base station and a method by the base station for supporting mobility of a terminal in a beamforming-based wireless communication system are provided. The method includes generating beam-related information for a plurality of terminals from beam measurements result received respectively from the plurality of terminals, detecting a path in a coverage area of the base station according to the beam-related information, and transmitting a message to the terminal determined to move along the path for supporting mobility based on the beam-related information.
Virtual neighbor objects for managing idle mode mobility in a wireless network
Facilitation of an idle mode reselection utilizing a virtual neighbor object is presented herein. A virtual neighbor component can create at least one virtual neighbor object and associate the at least one virtual neighbor object with wireless access points. Further, a reselection component can facilitate idle mode reselection between a base station and a wireless access point of the wireless access points based on the at least one virtual neighbor object.
Method, system and device for maintaining user service continuity
A method, a system and a device for maintaining user service continuity are provided in an embodiment of the present invention. The method includes prohibiting a UE from accessing a forbidden network before handover is complete when the UE needs to perform network handover if the UE adopts a SIM access technology, thus avoiding service interruption of a SIM user due to access to an incorrect network. A system and a device for maintaining user service continuity are provided in an embodiment of the present invention.
Apparatus and method for communicating voice data in a wireless network
An apparatus that uses a method for processing handover by a terminal linked to a wireless network included in heterogeneous wireless networks and conducting a voice call service is provided. The method includes determining whether the terminal is required to perform handover of another wireless network included in the heterogeneous wireless networks, and upon determining that the handover is required, performing handover to the another wireless network, wherein the handover is determined by applying at least one handover condition to each of predetermined operation modes in the terminal conducting the voice call service.
Method for capacity and coverage optimization of a multi-RAT network
A method for optimizing capacity and coverage in a target area of a multi-radio access technology (RAT) cellular network. In some aspects, the performance of the higher-generation RAT and that of the lower-generation RAT are each evaluated in order to optimize the capacity and coverage of the higher-generation RAT.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PERFORMING HANDOVER (HO) IN A LONG-RANGE LAND-TO-SEA (LRLS) WIRELESS NETWORK
The present disclosure relates to a method and system for performing Handover (HO) in a Long-Range Land-To-Sea (LRLS) wireless network. The Customer-Premises Equipment (CPE) comprises an Antenna Array (AA). The HO management system scans one or more inactive AAs of CPE based on configuration parameters. Further, one of Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) throughput values are retrieved on uplink and downlink. Thereafter, one of SNR and MCS throughput values on uplink and downlink are processed for determining a target AA. Further, system performs inter-network HO to Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) network when cell edge is detected on target AA or inter-AA HO to target AA otherwise. Lastly, a network re-entry is initiated to target AA from the VSAT when network re-entry is detected on target AA based on processing one of the SNR or the MCS throughput values in uplink and downlink.
Load balancing to provide a target grade of service (GOS)
A method includes receiving metrics associated with traffic that complies with a grade of service (GOS) associated with a customer premises equipment (CPE) device, where the metrics identify a group of cells via which the traffic is received by the CPE device. The method also includes retrieving information associated with traffic conditions within a group of base stations; initiating a load balancing operation when traffic conditions within a base station indicate that a particular cell, associated with the base station, is congested; and sending, to a set of base stations that send traffic to the CPE device, a notification, where the notification causes traffic, not destined for the CPE device, to be rerouted to another base station, which enables the base station to send traffic, that complies with the GOS, to the CPE device, or causes the CPE device to receive traffic, that complies with the GOS, from a further based station.
Providing automated neighbor relation to user equipments
A network node in a communication network provides Automated Neighboring Relation (ANR) data to User Equipments (UEs). The network node collects information of ongoing end-to-end traffic sessions from other network nodes in the communication network, and determines service characteristics of Radio Base Stations (RBSs) based on the collected information. For each RBS, the network node creates an ANR record indicating the determined service characteristics of neighboring RBSs. The network node then transmits the ANR record to each RBS to cause the RBS to propagate the ANR record to attached UEs.
