Controlling mobile device calls, text messages and data usage while operating a motor vehicle
Disclosed are a system and method of regulating mobile device communications while operating a motor vehicle. One example method may include determining a speed event indicating that a speed of the motor vehicle has performed at least one of exceeded a first threshold above which mobile device usage restriction policies are invoked and fallen below a second threshold allowing the mobile device restriction policies to be removed. The first threshold may be equal to or greater than the second threshold. As a result of obtaining the speed event, the method may also provide transmitting the speed event to a remote edge gateway server located remotely from the motor vehicle, which stores the speed event for reference purposes when determining a policy for routing a particular mobile device call, text message and/or mobile data session.
Mobile data scheduling based on signal strength and user availability
In an approach to determining and scheduling future data transfers, one or more computer processors determine one or more future data transfers. The one or more computer processors identify an intended travel path of a user over a time interval. The one or more computer processors predict a network signal strength of a user device for the intended travel path over the time interval. The one or more computer processors schedule the one or more future data transfers during the time interval based on the predicted network signal strength.
MULTI-GBPS WIRELESS DATA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR VEHICULAR SYSTEMS
Provided is a method for determining access permission for a beamforming computing device communicating with a beamforming transceiver. The method includes obtaining, at a central control system, location information from an inter-zone sensor, wherein the inter-zone sensor is configured to monitor and determine a location for the beamforming computing device as the beamforming computing device nears a boundary between a first access zone and a second access zone; accessing, by a storage device of the central control system, a rule to determine whether the beamforming computing device is permitted to operate in the second access zone; determining whether the beamforming computing device is permitted to operate in the second access zone based on the rule; and executing, by a rules engine of the central control system, a first command to the inter-zone sensor to instruct a beamforming transceiver in the second zone to initiate communication with the beamforming computing device.
METHOD FOR MEASURING MOBILITY STATE OF TERMINAL AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING SAME
Disclosed are a method for measuring a mobility state of a terminal and an apparatus for supporting same. The method comprises the steps of: receiving, from a current cell, a mobility value related to a previous cell when a terminal moves from the previous cell to the current cell; storing the received mobility value; and measuring the mobility state of the terminal on the basis of the stored mobility value.
CELL HANDOVER OR RESELECTION METHOD, COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A cell handover or reselection method, performed by a terminal, including: determining measurement information of a satellite cell based on relative location information between a terminal and a satellite.
SPECTRUM SCRUBBER
A method of enhancing wireless communication performance includes receiving information indicative of a local interferer where the local interferer is identified based on dynamic position information indicative of a position of at least one mobile communication node, performing noise cancellation relative to a received signal by removing an interference signal associated with the local interferer to generate a scrubbed signal, and providing the scrubbed signal for additional signal processing.
Methods and apparatus for use in adaptively rerouting user plane traffic for mobility using segment routing for IPv6
A control plane (CP) entity is to adaptively reroute user plane traffic of a mobile node (MN) with use of a segment routing (SR) for IPv6. A message indicating an attachment of the MN to the mobile network is received selecting a first user plane (UP) anchor node. A first set of home network prefixes (HNPs) are allocated to the MN. An IP traffic flow using a first HNP prefix is established between the MN and a correspondent node (CN) along a first network pathdefined at least in part by the first UP anchor node and an anchor node of the CN. In response to a handover of the MN, a message indicating a subsequent attachment of the MN is received selecting a second UP anchor node. The second UP anchor node is instructed to host the first HNP prefix previously allocated by the first UP anchor node.
Position information assisted network control
A network controller including processing circuitry may be configured to receive dynamic position information indicative of a three dimensional position of at least one mobile communication node, compare fixed position information indicative of fixed geographic locations of respective access points of a network to the dynamic position information to determine a relative position of the at least one mobile communication node relative to at least one of the access points based on the fixed position information and the dynamic position information, and provide network control instructions to at least one network asset based on the relative position.
Radio Operation Switch Based on PS Mobility Data
Systems and methods are disclosed for providing a radio operation switch based on mobility data. In one embodiment, a mobile base station is disclosed, comprising: a global positioning system (GPS) module for determining a current location of the mobile base station; a velocity module coupled to the output of the GPS module for determining a current velocity of the mobile base station; and a controller, the controller configured to perform steps comprising: determining the current velocity of the mobile base station using the velocity module; comparing the current velocity to a threshold; and switching, based on the comparison, from a first radio band to a second radio band.
Method and apparatus for abstracting network resources to support end user mobility
A method of orchestrating a plurality of network resources for providing a requested network service in a mobile communications network. The method comprises monitoring service requests (202) and obtaining information comprising abstracted resources of radio domain, transport domain and computing domain (206). The method also comprises obtaining and processing a service description comprising a set of parameters defining the service to be provided (208) and identifying in the abstracted resources from the radio domain, transport domain and computing domain resources for delivering the service defined in the service description in a coverage area determined based on the service description (212).
