QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE INDICATION AND REPORTING IN MOBILITY MANAGEMENT
20240121674 · 2024-04-11 ·

Techniques to incorporate quality of experience (QoE) in mobility management are disclosed. A user equipment (UE) may provide a QoE report to network (e.g., cell) upon detection of a QoE report triggering event (e.g., mobility management, environmental trigger, etc.). The QoE report may comprise information related to QoE metrics such as uplink (UL) latency, UL throughput, UL error rate, downlink (DL) frequency, DL throughput, DL error rate, handover (HO) frequency, beam switch frequency, UE power consumption, etc. The network may take actions such as sending a mobility management command if it is decided that QoE should be restored to the UE.

Robust beam failure recovery using a non-serving cell

A UE, in response to a beam failure being detected for a serving cell that serves the user equipment, determines whether a timer is running. One of the following is performed by the UE: in response to the timer running, a beam failure recovery procedure with a target non-serving cell; or in response to the timer not running, a beam failure recovery procedure with the serving cell. Methods, apparatus, computer programs, and computer program products are disclosed.

CELL HANDOVER METHOD AND APPARATUS

Disclosed in the present disclosure are a cell handover method and apparatus. The method comprises: sending measurement configuration information to a terminal to be handed over, wherein the measurement configuration information comprises beam configuration information; after the terminal measures neighboring cells according to the measurement configuration information, receiving beam measurement results sent by the terminal according to the beam configuration information; and determining, according to the beam measurement results, a target cell to which the terminal is to be handed over, and handing over the terminal to the target cell by means of a target network device.

Systems and methods for improved data speeds for wireless devices

A system and method for improving the user experience with a mobile wireless device by reconnecting to a faster speed connection after being rejected for the higher speed by an overloaded cell before expiration of a de-prioritization timer when the mobile wireless device travels away from the overloaded cell. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving from the first cell a connection rejection instructing the mobile wireless device to de-prioritize one or more frequencies of the first connection technology and a de-prioritization timer indicating a time period for the frequencies to remain de-prioritized; determining that the mobile wireless device has left the coverage area of the first cell; and connecting to a second cell of the telecommunication network via a connection in the one or more frequencies of the first connection technology prior to the expiration of the de-prioritization timer.

A Mobile Station (MS) in a wireless communication system is provided. The MS includes, generating a message for requesting to generate a service flow, the message including mobility management information of the service flow, and transmitting the message including the mobility management information. The mobility management information is used to determine whether the service flow requires an anchor.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING MOBILITY OF TERMINAL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
20190320364 · 2019-10-17 ·

A base station and a method by the base station for supporting mobility of a terminal in a beamforming-based wireless communication system are provided. The method includes generating beam-related information for a plurality of terminals from beam measurements result received respectively from the plurality of terminals, detecting a path in a coverage area of the base station according to the beam-related information, and transmitting a message to the terminal determined to move along the path for supporting mobility based on the beam-related information.

HetNet Mobility Management

A wireless communication system is presented for robust mobility management in a HetNet communication system. A source cell can prepare a macro cell and a target small cell as handover candidates during handover decision making and/or preparation. The mobile device is informed about the prepared macro cell and target small cell using radio resource control (RRC) messaging. After receiving a handover command or detecting radio frequency (RF) loss, the mobile device can try to connect with the target small cell. If the mobile device is unable to connect to the target small cell, the UE can fall back and connect to the macro cell.
