METHODS FOR PERFORMING MEASUREMENTS UNDER UE POWER SAVING MODES
Systems and methods are disclosed herein that relate to adapting a measurement procedure performed by a wireless device. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device for adapting a measurement procedure comprises determining that the wireless device is operating in an Operational Scenario (OS) out of a plurality of OSs and determining at least one measurement scaling factor based on the determined OS. The method further comprises adapting at least one measurement procedure based on the at least one measurement scaling factor. In this manner, the measurement procedure is adapted to the operational scenario of the wireless device.
Discontinuous Reception DRX Parameter Configuration Method and Apparatus
A discontinuous reception (DRX) parameter configuration method includes a first communication apparatus that sends data to a second communication apparatus on a sidelink based on a DRX parameter. The second communication apparatus determines an active time and a sleep period of the second communication apparatus based on the DRX parameter, and receives the data in the active time.
UE-BASED AND UE-ASSISTED POSITIONING WITH DOWNLINK AND UPLINK MEASUREMENTS FOR UE IN IDLE OR INACTIVE MODE
Signalling and protocol methods are proposed to allow positioning operations with signals of the cellular system for a UE in idle or inactive mode. In one novel aspect, UL-PRS is embedded in the RACH procedure: a set of RACH preambles with the functionality of UL-PRS are defined. These preambles are sent by the UE to the serving gNB to initiate a RACH procedure, and the following signalling could convey the measurement results. In another novel aspect, positioning operations on the network side are triggered through an AMF. The AMF may elect not to bring the UE to connected mode before transferring the location request to an LMF; instead, the AMF may indicate that the UE is in idle mode and it expects to page the UE with a subsequent message from the LMF.
Self-learning wireless thermostat that minimizes battery drain
A method of controlling signal transmission in a building control system including measuring a number of signal values associated with an environmental variable using a sensor of a wireless device, dynamically determining, by the wireless device, a noise threshold based on the number of signal values, combining a first signal value and a second signal value of the number of signal values using a mathematical relationship to determine a result associated with the first signal value and the second signal value, and periodically transmitting the first signal value from the wireless measurement device to a controller in response to the result exceeding the noise threshold.
Method and apparatus for communications under inactive state
The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses. According to an embodiment of the disclosure, a method includes: receiving a configuration for setting a user equipment (UE) in an inactive state, and performing a non-periodic notification update to a network in response to determining the synchronization with the network as failed.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASUREMENT RELAXATION
A method and device for measurement relaxation are provided. The method comprises: indicating the measuring state of a terminal device, wherein the measuring state comprises normal measurement and measurement relaxation. Therefore, indicating the measuring state of a terminal device and indicating that the measuring state of the terminal device is normal measurement or measurement relaxation realize the measurement relaxation of a serving cell.
On-Demand Enabling of Functional Entities in Cellular Modem for Power Saving
A user equipment (UE) is configured to power on a primary module of a cellular modem to perform signal processing operations for the UE, the primary module having first signal processing capabilities, detect an occurrence of an event, wherein the event indicates a change in network operations to be performed by the UE, determine event information indicating whether the change in network operations may use more signal processing capabilities than the primary module is able to perform, determine, based on the event information, a power state to be used for a secondary module of the cellular modem, wherein secondary module has second signal processing capabilities and is configured to perform further signal processing operations for the UE, and change a current power state for the secondary module when the determined power state is different from the current power state.
High-frequency signal processing apparatus and wireless communication apparatus
A high-frequency signal processing apparatus and a wireless communication apparatus can achieve a decrease in power consumption. For example, when an indicated power level to a high-frequency power amplifier is equal to or greater than a second reference value, envelope tracking is performed by causing a source voltage control circuit to control a high-speed DCDC converter using a detection result of an envelope detecting circuit and causing a bias control circuit to indicate a fixed bias value. The source voltage control circuit and the bias control circuit indicate a source voltage and a bias value decreasing in proportion to a decrease in the indicated power level when the indicated power level is in a range of the second reference value to the first reference value, and indicate a fixed source voltage and a fixed bias value when the indicated power level is less than the first reference value.
TERMINAL DEVICE AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS METHOD
This application provides a terminal device and a wireless communications method. When the terminal device is in a dual connectivity network including an LTE link and an NR link, the terminal device determines, based on a service transmission rate related to an actual transmission rate, whether to disconnect the NR link. If the service transmission rate is relatively low, the terminal device disconnects the NR link. If the service transmission rate is relatively high, the terminal device does not disconnect a first link, and uses both the NR link and the LTE link for communication. In this way, power consumption of the terminal device can be effectively reduced without affecting the user experience on transmission rate, the user experience on power consumption is improved, and the user experiences on transmission rate and power consumption are balanced to some extent.
ENERGY HARVESTING ARRIVAL AWARE JOINT SENSING AND TRANSMISSION
According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus for controlling a terminal device. The apparatus monitors a current charge level of a rechargeable energy storage device of the terminal device and a current energy harvesting state of an energy harvesting device of the terminal device. When the current energy harvesting state corresponds to an energy harvesting state indicative of no energy being harvested, the apparatus causes the terminal device to operate in one of a first, second and third operating modes depending on a value of the current charge level relative to first and second thresholds. The first, second and third operating modes and the first and second thresholds are defined so that the uplink transmission functionality of the terminal device is disabled when the current charge level drops below the first threshold and the downlink transmission functionality of the terminal device is disabled when the current charge level drops below both thresholds.
