TRANSMISSION BAND SELECTION USING BATTERY STATUS
20230224935 · 2023-07-13 · ·

The present invention provides a method of selecting a frequency band of a mobile communications network in which a user equipment, UE, device is to operate, the method comprising determining a charge status of a rechargeable power supply of the UE device; and dependent on the charge status, generating an indication that the UE device should, taking into account the charge status, preferably be set to operate in a frequency band having a lower attenuation coefficient than a second frequency band in which the UE device could be set to operate in.

Low power mode for payment transactions

This application relates to systems, methods, and apparatus for using a computing device to perform payment transactions while the computing device is operating in a low power wallet mode during a low battery state of the computing device. During a low power wallet mode, various subsystems are prevented from receiving current from a battery of the computing device, while a near field communication (NFC) system of the computing device is provided with an operating current for detecting target systems. A target system and the NFC system can communicate during the low power wallet mode of the computing device, thereby allowing a user of the computing device to conduct payment transactions when the computing device is in a low power wallet mode. Such payment transactions can be useful if the user is ever stranded without enough power to fully operate the computing device and needs to pay for transportation.

OPTIMIZING MOBILE NETWORK TRAFFIC COORDINATION ACROSS MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS RUNNING ON A MOBILE DEVICE
20230224815 · 2023-07-13 ·

A mobile device allows transmission of additional outgoing application data requests in response to occurrence of receipt of data transfer from a remote entity, user input in response to a prompt displayed to the user, and a change in a background status of an application executing on the mobile device. Additional outgoing application data requests are foreground application requests.

Power saving in new radio multicast

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) may include: receiving a multicast bandwidth part configuration for multicast communications between a base station and the UE, where the multicast bandwidth part configuration includes a maximum number of multiple-input, multiple-output layers to be used for the multicast communications; establishing a multicast link with the base station for multicast communications; determining to use a reduced number of antennas for multicast reception than the number of antennas used for unicast reception, or determining that the UE is able to decode the multicast communications prior to a remaining portion of the multicast communications; and receiving the multicast communications via the reduced number of antennas, or reducing the radio frequency power prior to completion of a number of repetitions or retransmissions of the multicast communications.

CONNECTED MODE DISCONTINUOUS RECEPTION ENABLEMENT AND PARAMETER ADAPTATION
20230217367 · 2023-07-06 ·

Techniques for dynamically adjusting Connected Mode Discontinuous Reception (CDRX) parameters are discussed herein. For example, a base station may receive information associated with downlink data to be sent to a user equipment (UE) and/or information associated with the UE itself. The base station may adjust CDRX parameters to be implemented on the UE based on the received information in order to maximize performance of the UE. In some examples, the base station may adjust CDRX parameters based on a traffic type (e.g., voice traffic, video traffic, data traffic, etc.) associated with the downlink data, UE state parameters associated with the UE, and/or Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) data associated with the UE.

Apparatus and method for resource allocation using mobile base station

The disclosure generally relates to techniques for efficiently allocating resources allocated from a macro base station by estimating the communication possibility of each sensor without direct communication with the sensor in a mobile base station. A method for resource allocation in a mobile base station may include detecting at least one sensor within a communicable range of the mobile base station, estimating a communication possibility of the sensor based on a message queue and a remaining battery level of the at least one sensor, receiving resource allocation from a macro base station based on the communication possibility, and allocating the allocated resource to the sensor.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING A POWER MANAGEMENT INTEGRATED CIRCUIT (PMIC) AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF

An electronic device may include a wireless communication circuit, a battery, a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) electrically connected to the wireless communication circuit and the battery and including a regulator, and a processor electrically connected to the wireless communication circuit, the battery, and the PMIC. The processor may, responsive to the electronic device satisfying a specified condition, identify a change in a magnitude of a voltage of an output terminal of the regulator for a first time interval, identify a ratio of a time interval during which the change in the magnitude of the voltage of the output terminal satisfies a threshold value with respect to the first time interval, and adjust the magnitude of the voltage of the output terminal in a step-wise manner based on the ratio.

CELLULAR SIGNAL MESH NETWORK

Methods and devices related to a cellular signal mesh network are described. In an example, a method can include determining, via a processing resource of a first computing device, whether a cellular signal of the first computing device is below a threshold cellular signal, transmitting from the first computing device to a second computing device first signaling including data representing a request for operational data of the second computing device in response to determining that the cellular signal of the first computing device is below the threshold cellular signal, receiving from the second computing device second signaling comprising the operational data of the second computing device, and transmitting from the first computing device to the second computing device third signaling including data representing at least one of: a voice call, a video call, or a message in response to receiving the second signaling comprising the operational data.

Wireless sensor network for pipeline fluid leakage measurement

A wireless sensor network (WSN) includes a sensor node cluster having a plurality of sensor nodes positioned along a section of a pipeline; a base station; a designated cluster head for the sensor node cluster, the designated cluster head configured to forward sensor data packets towards the base station; and a server having circuitry. The circuitry is configured to determine when the designated cluster head has a battery energy level below a predetermined level, elect a replacement cluster head for the designated cluster head when the battery energy level is below the predetermined level, and forward an energy status of the designated cluster head to the replacement cluster head.
