The disclosure provides techniques for power control for communications under a Very Low Power (VLP) mode. A communication device includes: processing circuitry, to encode a message to be transmitted to a second communication device, to indicate a setpoint, wherein the setpoint is defined as a minimum power at which a packet is required to be transmitted under a set of packet parameters, such that the packet could be successfully received by the communication device; and a transceiver, to transmit the message to the second communication device, and receive the packet transmitted at a power determined based on the setpoint and a margin, from the second communication device, wherein the margin is determined based on a probability of measurement errors.
Power control for communication under very low power mode
The disclosure provides techniques for power control for communications under a Very Low Power (VLP) mode. A communication device includes: processing circuitry, to encode a message to be transmitted to a second communication device, to indicate a setpoint, wherein the setpoint is defined as a minimum power at which a packet is required to be transmitted under a set of packet parameters, such that the packet could be successfully received by the communication device; and a transceiver, to transmit the message to the second communication device, and receive the packet transmitted at a power determined based on the setpoint and a margin, from the second communication device, wherein the margin is determined based on a probability of measurement errors.
Dynamic reallocation of transmit power on dual connectivity devices
Systems and methods are provided for dynamically reallocating available transmit power on a dual connectivity user device. A retransmission rate is monitored for the user device that can simultaneously communicate using two or more wireless communication protocols. It is determined that the retransmission rate for the user device is above a threshold for communications using a first wireless communication protocol, such as LTE. Channel assignment of a second wireless communication protocol, such as 5G, is reduced, thus allowing the user device to reallocate a portion of the transmit power previously allocated for the second wireless communication protocol to the first wireless communication protocol to improve the retransmission rate for the first wireless communication protocol.

The at least one processor may be configured to identify at least one time of transmission of a sounding reference signal (SRS) set in the NR communication, transmitted through each of the plurality of antennas, identify at least one time of the LTE communication corresponding to the at least one time of transmission of the SRS, identify a block error rate (BLER) of the LTE communication in at least one frequency band associated with the LTE communication simultaneously in use with the NR communication, at the at least one time of the LTE communication, and based on the BLER satisfying a designated condition, perform an SRS restriction operation.
