POWER CONTROL TECHNIQUES FOR SIDELINK COMMUNICATIONS

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a UE may determine a power control adjustment based on sidelink messages received from other UEs. The UE may transmit, to the other UEs, an indication of the power control adjustment to the other UEs. The other UEs may transmit additional sidelink messages in accordance with the power control adjustment, such that power levels of the additional sidelink message satisfy a threshold. A base station may indicate a power control adjustment to one or more UEs. For example, the base station may receive power control information associated with sidelink communications between a set of UEs. The base station may transmit an indication of a power adjustment parameter for a transmit power level for sidelink messages transmitted between two UEs of the set. The value of the power adjustment parameter may be based on the received power control information.

CONTROLLING NETWORK PARTICIPANTS TO SELECT RADIO POWER LEVELS THAT BEST SERVE THE NETWORK AND INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS

A facility that controls participants in an ad hoc peer wireless network to use transmission power level settings and routing paths that best serve individual participants in the network and the network as a whole is described. Variously, the facility modulates transmission power levels to extend participant battery life and reduce the likelihood of radio interference in the network; establishes routing paths that contribute to the effectiveness and continuing operation of the network; and monitors for and responds to the occurrence of interference in the network's communications.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may help enhance power control for sidelink transmissions. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications by a first user equipment (UE) generally includes transmitting a power headroom report (PHR) to a second UE, receiving, from the second UE, a transmit power control (TPC) based on the PHR, and transmitting at least a first sidelink transmission to the second UE with transmit power in accordance with the TPC.

SIDELINK COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

A sidelink communication method, performed by a first terminal, may comprise: determining a first power value of a first control channel for transmitting control information for sidelink communication based on open-loop power control; transmitting the control information on the first control channel having the first power value; in response to receiving a response signal corresponding to the control information, determining a second power value of a first data channel for transmitting data; and transmitting a second control channel and the first data channel in one predetermined slot for the sidelink communication, wherein a third power value of the second control channel and the second power value of the first data channel are determined based on at least a power value of the first control channel.

SUPERPOSITION CODED MODULATION FOR SIDELINK COMMUNICATIONS

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may encode, for a first set of resource elements (REs), a first layer for sidelink control information. The UE may encode, for a second set of REs, a second layer for sidelink data, wherein the first set of REs and the second set of REs are associated with a same one or more symbols. The UE may transmit, to another UE and based at least in part on applying superposition coded modulation (SCM) to the first layer and the second layer, the sidelink control information using the first set of REs and the sidelink data using the second set of REs. Numerous other aspects are described.

Sidelink feedback signal transmission

A wireless device receives, from a base station, one or more configuration messages comprising a plurality of sidelink feedback resources via one of a system information block or a radio resource control message. A determination is made, based on a received signal power from the base station, a sidelink feedback resource of the plurality of sidelink feedback resources. A sidelink feedback signal is transmitted, to a second wireless device, via the sidelink feedback resource.

Sidelink coordination for power control

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some cases, a first user equipment (UE) within a coverage area of a base station may determine a power control configuration. The first UE may transmit an indication of the power control configuration to a second UE, which may adjust one or more power control parameters based on the indication. The one or more power control parameters may include a target received power, a compensation factor, a downlink path loss between the base station and the first UE, or a combination thereof. The second UE may use the adjusted one or more power control parameters to determine a transmit power and may transmit a message to the first UE with the determined transmit power. In some cases, the second UE may be outside of the coverage area of the base station.

Power headroom reporting by a wireless device
11477740 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A wireless device receives one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages indicating: uplink resources of a first cell; and a sidelink resource pool of the first cell. A power headroom value of the first cell is selected among: a first power headroom value of an uplink transmission via the uplink resources; and a second power headroom value of a sidelink transmission via the sidelink resource pool. A power headroom report is transmitted. The power headroom report comprises: the power headroom value of the first cell; and a power headroom type indicating whether the power headroom value of the first cell is for the uplink transmission or the sidelink transmission.
