The communication management resource establishes a control channel over the physical communication link between the network management node and the first customer premises equipment. Via the control channel, the communication management resource then transmits a command over the control channel from the network management node to the first customer premises equipment. The command controls operation of the first customer premises equipment.

The method also includes pushing changes to the Wi-Fi system to automatically remediate the one or more root-causes in the Wi-Fi system.
