Certificate-based techniques to securely onboard a radio interface unit
Presented herein are certificate-based techniques through which a Radio Interface Unit may be securely onboarded to a service provider network. In one example, a method is provided that includes obtaining, by a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server, an address assignment request for the, wherein the address assignment request comprises a vendor device certificate, a signed nonce, a non-encrypted serial number for the RIU, a signed serial number for the RIU, and a vendor identifier; validating the vendor device certificate, the signed nonce, and the signed serial number for the RIU based on a vendor root certification authority certificate; validating the non-encrypted serial number for the RIU; and generating an address assignment response based on validating the non-encrypted serial number for the RIU, the vendor device certificate, the signed nonce, and the signed serial number for the RIU.
TDD FDD communication interface
TDD access equipment modified by introducing a frequency change at the normal TDD guard point, with respective downlink or uplink periods for individual subscriber stations offset to form overlapping frames. Cyclo-stationary processing, block equalization, and burst timing coordination allow the boundary between downlink and uplink portions of both frames to be set dynamically, improving spectral efficiency. Fast frequency switching within an allotted physical slot enables synchronization of time-sharing the dedicated frequencies to be maintained among subscriber stations. Duplex spacing between downlink and uplink frequencies for individual subscriber stations, combined with in-depth filtering of received signals, prevents spurious out-of-band transmission signal strength from reaching an interference level.

A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting, to a network access device, a first indication of a supported radio frequency (RF) bandwidth capability of the UE and a second indication of an RF component configuration of the UE associated with the supported RF bandwidth capability of the UE; and communicating with the network access device based at least in part on the supported RF bandwidth capability of the UE and the RF component configuration of the UE. A method for wireless communication at a network access device includes receiving the first indication and the second indication from the UE, and communicating with the UE based at least in part on the supported RF bandwidth capability of the UE and the RF component configuration of the UE.
