Methods and apparatus for a habitable electronic material system
Disclosed herein is a habitable electronic material system that may comprise at least one layer of material having at least one embedded electronic sensor operable to detect at least one environmental indicator. The at least one layer of material is flexible and operable to form an interior space operable to support a user. The habitable electronic material system may be portable by manpower. The at least one layer may comprise a water-resistant layer, a solar energy collection subsystem layer protected by the water-resistant layer, a thermal insulator layer, and an energy storage subsystem layer. The habitable electronic material system may comprise a computer subsystem partially imbedded into the electronic material system and operably coupled with the solar energy collection subsystem and the energy storage subsystem. The habitable electronic material system may comprise a thermal converter subsystem operable to enable a user to control the temperature within the interior space.
INFRARED SENSOR
An infrared heating system comprises an infrared heater. The infrared heater comprises at least one heating element and an infrared emission surface configured to emit infrared radiation across a heating angle to a heating area; an infrared temperature sensor, the infrared temperature sensor having a field of view defined by a sensor angle, the field of view comprising a portion of the heating area; and a controller configured to: receive a temperature value of the field of view from the infrared temperature sensor; calculate a mean radiant temperature of the heating area based on the temperature value from the field of view; output a control signal corresponding to the mean radiant temperature; and transmit the control signal to a component of the infrared heater, wherein the infrared temperature sensor is outside of the heating area and/or is in the plane of the emission surface
Heated Ceiling Fan Device
A heated ceiling fan device is disclosed that enables users to enjoy the outdoor environment in cool temperatures. The heated ceiling fan device comprises a ceiling fan with at least one heating element positioned on the bottom surface of each fan blade. The heating element output can be controlled by a remote control to achieve a desired temperature while the fan rotates. In one embodiment, the heating element is comprised of an infrared bulb. The fan can also be comprised of a speaker that can wirelessly connect with a sound device. Additionally, the fan can comprise a camera for additional security. Finally, the fan can also include a plurality of mist nozzles for additional protection from outdoor insects while providing a pleasant aroma.
Radiant heater
A body defines a void and an aperture and has a reflective surface, the void communicating with the aperture and the reflective surface presenting towards the aperture. A structure, adapted to produce infrared radiation, is positioned in the void such that infrared radiation produced by the structure is directed to the aperture. An optical filter is positioned to at least substantially occlude the aperture, the filter being adapted for through passage of the infrared radiation directed to the aperture and further being adapted to restrict the through passage of visible light.
