A food preparation appliance includes a housing, a conveyor, a thermal element, a first sensor, a second sensor, and a third sensor. The housing defines an inlet, an outlet, and a processing zone between the inlet and the outlet. The conveyor is configured to move a food product from the inlet, through the processing zone, and to the outlet. The thermal element is positioned within the processing zone. The first sensor is positioned proximate the inlet of the housing and along a lateral side of the conveyor or along a first cantilever arm extending laterally across the conveyor. The second sensor is positioned within the processing zone. The third sensor is positioned proximate the outlet of the housing and along a lateral side of the conveyor or along a second cantilever arm extending laterally across the conveyor.

Ovens with metallic belts and microwave launch box assemblies for processing food products

In certain examples, a food processing machine for processing a food product includes a housing defining a cavity, a conveyor with a belt comprising metal for conveying the food product through the cavity in a longitudinal direction, and a convection heating system for heating air in the cavity such that heated air heats the food product as the food product is conveyed through the cavity. A microwave launch box system is configured to emit microwave energy into the cavity in a lateral direction transverse to the longitudinal direction to thereby further heat the food product as the food product is conveyed through the cavity.

ON-DEMAND OVEN INSERT FOR AIRCRAFT GALLEY

An oven is disclosed for preparing meals on-demand in an aircraft galley, which includes a housing having a cooking path extending between an inlet for introducing a food product into the cooking path and an outlet for retrieving the food product from the cooking path, a plurality of heating zones located along the cooking path for sequentially cooking the food product, a conveyor assembly for transporting the food product from the inlet of the cooking path to the outlet of the cooking path through the plurality of heating zones, and at least one heating element located within each cooking zone.

PASTEURIZATION OF CONVENIENCE MEALS IN HERMETICALLY SEALED CONTAINERS

Apparatus and method for pasteurizing food products and ready meals in hermetically sealed packages (22) by means of microwaves, comprising a microwave chamber (14); a lower conveyor belt (20) for the packages (22); an upper conveyor belt (18), extending substantially horizontally and vertically movable, and a microwave source (16) located below the lower conveyor belt (20), the microwave chamber (14) being under atmospheric ambient pressure. The apparatus comprises a cooling plate (10) in close contact with the upper conveyor belt (18) so that during microwave heating the top of the package (22) is cooled to below the condensation point of water vapor and overpressure in the package is avoided.

MICROWAVE COOKING APPLIANCE

The present disclosure discloses a cooking appliance, which includes: a cooking chamber; a tray, which is arranged at a bottom of the cooking chamber; a drive mechanism, which is connected with the tray and which is configured to drive the tray to rotate; and a protrusion, which is formed on a bottom plate of the cooking chamber, and which is located below the tray and near an edge of the tray. The cooking appliance of the embodiment of the present disclosure also has a protrusion formed on the bottom plate of the cooking chamber, and the protrusion is arranged below the tray, which greatly limits a space in which the tray can deflect. Therefore, when the tray has a tendency of turning over under the action of an external force, the tray can only move with a small amplitude, and when it contacts the protrusion, it will immediately have a tendency of moving back to its original position.

Microwave sterilization or pasteurization
11140913 · 2021-10-12 · ·

Various embodiments of processing systems and components for sterilization or pasteurization and associated methods of operation are described herein. For example, a method of sterilization or pasteurization includes immersing an item in an immersion fluid, and the immersed item is subject to a hydrostatic pressure of the immersion fluid. The method also includes applying microwave energy to the item while the item is immersed in the immersion fluid and subject to the hydrostatic pressure of the immersion fluid. The hydrostatic pressure of the immersion fluid prevents the water content of the item from causing steam explosion in the item while the microwave energy is applied. The method further includes heating the item immersed in the immersion fluid to a target temperature with the applied microwave energy, the target temperature being sufficient to achieve sterilization or pasteurization of the item.

A line for heating, drying, disinfecting, pasteurizing and/or sterilizing a substance with an apparatus that includes at least one, preferably a multitude, solid-state radio frequency source(s) and a further heat treatment apparatus. A method for heating, drying, disinfecting, pasteurizing and/or sterilizing a substance with an apparatus that includes at least a solid-state RF energy source microwave heating step and a further heat treatment step.

ENERGY CONTROL ELEMENTS FOR IMPROVED MICROWAVE HEATING OF PACKAGED ARTICLES

Processes and systems that enhance the heating of packaged foodstuffs and other items in various microwave heating systems are described herein. The foodstuffs may be contained in a package including one or more energy control elements that interact with microwave energy in order to alter the effect that microwave energy has on the foodstuff. These energy control elements can enhance or inhibit microwave energy and a single package may include one or more energy control elements. In some cases, the energy control element may respond differently to different types of microwave energy. As a result, some packages described herein may exhibit different absorption or reflectance characteristics when exposed to microwave energy while being pasteurized or sterilized in a larger-scale microwave heating system than when the package is reheated in an at-home microwave oven prior to consumption or use.
