Microwave suppression tunnel and related features
A continuous asphalt mix system for using a microwave heating vessel at the point of production that includes a microwave energy suppression tunnel with one or more mesh flaps for substantially reducing or preventing the leakage of microwave energy from a microwave system, while having a continuous flow of product through the vessel and suppression tunnels. The suppression tunnels are installed on the inlet and/or the outlet side of the system and are sized to suppress leakage.
Tubular waveguide applicator
A microwave heating apparatus with a tubular waveguide applicator forming a heating chamber and with microwave-transparent centering elements to maintain product to be treated in proximity to the centerline axis of the chamber. Product is conveyed through the chamber in a direction in or opposite to the direction of propagation of microwaves. Cylindrical chokes at product entrance and exit openings into the chamber prevent microwave leakage and allow for large openings for large products. In some versions, a low-loss inner tube in the chamber coaxial with the tubular applicator is used to confine product to be heated in proximity to the centerline axis of the chamber to be heated effectively by microwaves with a TM.sub.01 field pattern.
Microwave heating system with suppression tunnel and related features
A system for processing material, including at least one microwave generator, at least one microwave guide operatively connecting the at least one microwave generator to at least a first conveyor unit, and the first conveyor unit provided in a first housing that comprises at least one opening configured to receive microwave energy via a first microwave guide. The first conveyor unit is configured to receive and process a quantity of material, which includes heating the material to a first temperature by applying microwave energy to the material within the first housing.
REACTOR AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING EFFLUENT GAS STREAM
A reactor for treating gaseous pollutants includes an inlet module, a reaction module, one or more microwave modules, and a susceptor. The inlet module includes one or more guiding conduits configured to guide an effluent stream from a process. The reaction module is in fluid communication with the inlet module and includes a body and a reaction chamber. The guiding conduit is connected to the reaction chamber. The microwave module includes a microwave generation unit and a waveguide unit, wherein the waveguide unit is connected to the reaction chamber and configured to transmit microwave radiation generated by the microwave generation unit into the reaction chamber. The susceptor is disposed within the reaction chamber and configured to receive the microwave radiation from the waveguide unit and convert the microwave radiation into thermal energy.
Apparatus and method for heating frying oil with solid-state RF energy technology
Processing apparatus, in which a product is fried in a frying oil, frying oil is pumped by a pump in a flow direction through a microwave chamber, the microwave chamber includes at least one solid-state radio frequency source, the frying oil is configured to flow out of the frying oil chamber towards the microwave chamber where the frying oil is heated and then the frying oil is configured to flow back into the microwave chamber, the flow direction of the of the frying oil in the frying oil chamber is the same as a flow direction of the product that is transported by the transport means, the processing apparatus includes a filter in the tube of the microwave chamber, and energy generated by the at least one solid-state radio frequency source to heat the frying oil depends on a desired temperature of the frying oil.
