Heating system with enhanced temperature control
A process for heating articles in a heating system includes passing an article in a carrier through a heating chamber that is at least partially filled with a liquid medium to form a liquid bath. The process further includes heating the article in the carrier by at least partially submerging the article into the liquid bath during heating, the heating being performed, at least in part, using microwave energy. The process further includes one or more of adding fluid into and removing fluid from at least one location in the heating chamber to maintain a temperature profile across the heating chamber. In one implementation, the temperature of the liquid bath at an inlet area of the heating chamber is at least 10° C. cooler than a temperature of the liquid bath at an outlet area of the heating chamber.
Apparatuses, Systems, and Methods for Heating with Electromagnetic Waves
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for heating a fluid or other material. The apparatuses may include a container (e.g., tube) in which a susceptor material is disposed. The susceptor material may convert microwave energy to heat, which may increase the temperature of a fluid or material in or adjacent the tube.

A wireless power transmission apparatus for induction heating includes: a working coil configured to change operation based on selection of a mode of operation from among a plurality of operating modes, the plurality of operating modes including a wireless power transmission mode configured to wirelessly transmit power and a heating mode configured to heat one or more objects, an inverter configured to output, to the working coil, current at an operation frequency, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine, based on the wireless power transmission mode being selected, whether a foreign object is present on the working coil over a plurality of modes in a preparation period prior to performing wireless power transmission (WPT) to a target object.
HIGH FREQUENCY DEVICE FOR HEATING FOOD PRODUCT, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
In an embodiment, an apparatus for heat treatment of food product by radio frequency (RF) includes a transmission line having: a center conductor that includes a stack of food product packages, and an outer shield that at least partially encloses the center conductor. An RF connector is electrically coupled with the center conductor and with a source of RF voltage.
Energy control elements for improved microwave heating of packaged articles
Processes and systems that enhance the heating of packaged foodstuffs and other items in various microwave heating systems are described herein. The foodstuffs may be contained in a package including one or more energy control elements that interact with microwave energy in order to alter the effect that microwave energy has on the foodstuff. These energy control elements can enhance or inhibit microwave energy and a single package may include one or more energy control elements. In some cases, the energy control element may respond differently to different types of microwave energy. As a result, some packages described herein may exhibit different absorption or reflectance characteristics when exposed to microwave energy while being pasteurized or sterilized in a larger-scale microwave heating system than when the package is reheated in an at-home microwave oven prior to consumption or use.
Radio frequency fluid warmer
The present invention is generally a radio frequency apparatus for warming fluids such as IV fluids. In exemplary embodiments, a uniform warming of fluids is achieved by exposing a fluid-carrying tube to Radio Frequency (RF) energy. The RF energy may be supplied by an RF generator, which is coupled to a waveguide. The waveguide typically includes an inlet into which a fluid tube may be introduced. Inside the waveguide, a pathway may be formed wherein the fluid tube may rest in a predetermined position. In exemplary embodiments, the pathway guides the positioning of the tube along a transmission-line length of the waveguide, in a manner such that the tube gradually approaches an electromagnetic field inside the waveguide and exits at a second terminal end of the waveguide. Having absorbed energy supplied from the RF generator, the fluid inside the tube exits the apparatus warmed to a desired temperature.
Microwave substance treatment systems and methods of operation
A substance treatment apparatus includes an RF signal source, power detection circuitry, a controller, and a transmission path between the RF signal source and a first electrode that radiates electromagnetic energy into a chamber. The RF signal source includes a solid-state amplifier that generates an RF signal. The power detection circuitry detects reflected signal power along the transmission path. Based on the reflected signal power, the controller modifies values of variable components within an impedance matching network electrically coupled along the transmission path to adjust a magnitude of the reflected signal power. The impedance matching network may have a double-ended input connected to a balun, and a double-ended output connected to the first electrode and to a second electrode. Alternatively, the impedance matching network may have a single-ended input connected to the RF signal source, and a single-ended output connected to the first electrode. The second electrode may be grounded.
Aerosol generating device, method of controlling aerosol generating device, and program
Provided is an aerosol generating device which is capable of stopping aerosol generation at an appropriate timing. This aerosol generating device includes a power source which supplies power in order to atomize an aerosol source and/or heat a flavor source; a sensor which outputs a measurement value for controlling the power supplied; and a circuitry which controls the power supplied from the power source on the basis of the measurement value. The circuitry controls to increase a power supply amount per unit time in response to a first condition that the measured value is equal to or larger than a first threshold being satisfied, and to decrease the power supply amount per unit time in response to a second condition that the measured value is less than a second threshold greater than the first threshold and a third condition which is different from the first condition and the second condition being satisfied.
