Lighting system and method for dynamically regulating driven current to an analog or digital dimming interface
A lighting system includes various ballasts or LED drivers having respective dimming interface circuits coupled in parallel to an external dimming device. Each device includes a controller regulating output to a lighting load based on desired dimming output. Dimming interface circuits coupled are between the controller and the external dimming device, each configured to dynamically adapt a level of constant current sourced from the dimming interface circuit to the external dimming device via first and second interface terminals, based on a determined analog mode or digital mode associated with the external device. The dimming interface circuit generates dimming control signals to the controller based on dimming input signals received via the first and second interface terminals, and in a digital mode, the interface circuit generates digital pulse signals to the external dimming device via the interface terminals for bidirectional communications therewith.

Lighting device operating at different power levels
The current subject matter relates to a lighting device that can be installed in an already existing fixture in a structure. The lighting device can include a light emitting diode (LED) lighting segment and a fluorescent lighting segment. The LED lighting segment can include a LED lighting source, and the fluorescent lighting segment can include a fluorescent lighting source. The LED lighting source can be activated. Motion sensors and/or occupancy sensors can detect motion and/or occupancy of an occupant in the structure. If there is motion or if the occupancy is more than a predetermined threshold, the fluorescent lighting source can be activated. After each regular interval of time, the detection of motion or occupancy can be re-performed. If there is no detection of motion and/or occupancy, the fluorescent lighting source can be deactivated, after a period of time. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Discharge lamp driving device, projector, and discharge lamp driving method
According to an aspect of the invention, a discharge lamp driving device includes a discharge lamp driving section, a control section, and a voltage detecting section. The control section is configured to execute a first discharge lamp driving for executing a first control and a second control for supplying a driving current including a direct current and an alternating current to a discharge lamp. In the first discharge lamp driving, the control section executes the first control when the interelectrode voltage is equal to or smaller than a first threshold voltage at predetermined setting timing and executes the second control when the interelectrode voltage is larger than the first threshold voltage at the predetermined setting timing. A rate of the direct current in the second control is larger than a rate of the direct current in the first control.
