A power supply combination comprises a first power source comprising a first power rail delivering power at a first voltage and a second power rail delivering power at a second voltage. The power supply combination also comprises a second power source comprising a third power rail delivering power at the first voltage and a fourth power rail delivering power at the second voltage. A first power combining circuit is electrically connected to the first power rail and to the third power rail. The first power combining circuit delivers power at the first voltage to a first voltage input of a load. A second power combining circuit is electrically connected to the second power rail and to the fourth power rail. The second power combining circuit delivers power at the second voltage to a second voltage input of the load.

Implementations are described for a modular power distribution unit (PDU) for a rack-mountable power tray or power shelf. The modular PDU includes a housing defining an input face and an opposing output face, and a plurality of power cables extending to the input face. The modular PDU further includes one or more second power connectors arranged at the output face, and distribution circuitry configured to distribute power from a first power bus and a second power bus to the one or more second power connectors. The modular PDU further includes one or more fasteners configured to attach the output face of the housing to the face of the power tray or power shelf, wherein the one or more second power connectors are retained in a coupled configuration with the one or more first power connectors.

An avionics mounting unit includes a housing with a first mounting interface to couple the housing to a structure of an aircraft and a second mounting interface to couple an avionics device to the housing. The second mounting interface includes slots oriented orthogonal to each other and extending to sides of the housing such that the avionics device can be installed via the slots from any of four sides of the housing. The avionics mounting unit also includes communication circuitry, power supply circuitry, one or more avionics device interface ports, and one or more aircraft interface ports. The avionics device interface port(s) are configured to provide power to the avionics device and configured to enable data communications with the avionics device. The aircraft interface port(s) are configured to receive power from the aircraft and to enable data communications between other aircraft systems and the avionics device.

The chassis includes a base around the water permeable connector, a top part of the base having at least one groove, wherein a seal is inserted. Further, the module includes a power supply unit fitted with a continuous voltage connector surrounded by a ferrite and fitted in the water permeable connector. The power supply unit is attached to the chassis so that a lower plate of the power supply unit co-operates with the seal of the base to ensure a seal around the water permeable connector and the DC voltage connector of the power supply unit.

An apparatus and a method of use are disclosed herein. The apparatus comprises a disaggregated fault tolerant backplane having a front side and a back side with at least two daughter card slots configured on the front side and configured to receive slot fanout signals over the backplane. The apparatus further comprises at least two switch boards (SBs) configured to provide electrical power to the at least two daughter card slots and at least one main fanout board (MFB) configured to send and receive SB control signals to and from the at least two SBs. The at least one MFB connects to the backplane through at least one MFB connector configured on the back side of the backplane. In one embodiment, the MFB receives control signals from the daughter card slots and sends slot fanout signals to the daughter card slots.

A network element incudes a shelf including a main backplane having a busbar system thereon, wherein the shelf supports any of port modules and switch modules, wherein the modules interconnect to one another via cables; extension brackets configured to connect to one of a top and a bottom of the shelf; and a power shelf configured to connect to the extension brackets, wherein the power shelf supports one or more power modules; wherein the power shelf is configured at a top of the shelf when the shelf is located, in any of a rack, frame, and cabinet, above another shelf, and wherein the power shelf is configured at a bottom of the shelf when the shelf is located below the another shelf.

The busbar assembly further includes one or more alignment blocks configured to hold the pair of conductive strips in a fixed position with respect to the non-conductive vertical substrate. Each of the one or more alignment blocks is configured to guide a pair of power connectors of a circuit board for making electrical contact with the pair of conductive strips, while allowing simultaneous mating of signal connectors on the circuit board with signal connectors on the substrate, when the circuit board is being installed in a housing.
