Component assembly system
A component assembly system includes a supporting profiled rail, a functional component, and a bridging module configured to electrically connect to the functional component. The bridging module includes a module retention device configured to hold the bridging module on the supporting profiled rail. The functional component is configured to partly seat onto the bridging module, and includes a component retention device configured to hold the functional component on the supporting profiled rail. A locking slide is configured to releasably fix a functional component to a supporting profiled rail. The locking slide is configured to positively engage around the supporting profiled rail.

A module for a data bus comprises a terminal. The terminal comprises two opposite outer faces, each comprising at least one contact, wherein the two contacts are connected by means of an internal data-bus line for forwarding data through the terminal via said internal data bus. The module further comprises a software-protection unit which is integrated into the terminal and connected to said data-bus line.

The electronic module (3) comprises an insulation material housing (20) and is connectable to the plug contacts (7, 8) of the base module (2) in the attached state on the base module (2). The base module (2) and the electronic module (3) comprise interacting snap-in elements (23, 26) for locking the base module (2) and the electronic module (3) to each other when the electronic module (3) is attached to the base module (2) A snap-in element (23) of the electronic module (3) comprises a protruding activation lug (27) on a second face (15) of the electronic device (1). The electronic module (3) comprises a protruding catch lug (19) on its first face (11) opposite the second face (15). The electronic module (3) and the base module (2) comprise interacting linear guides (35a, 35b; 36a, 36b), wherein the electronic module (3) is held linearly displaceable on the base module (2) using the linear guides (35a, 35b; 36a, 36b) and is receivable on the base module (2).

A safety ground terminal apparatus can include a ground terminal operable to switch between a common ground connection or a isolated ground connection, wherein the ground terminal comprises a hinge point that is connectable to a base of a housing via a rail in an arrangement that allows for a disconnection from the common ground connection when the isolated ground connection is required and without compromising electrical contact. The ground terminal can provide a watertight ground connection irrespective of the type of ground connection requirement. Removable I/O module with diagnostics for a field device I/O connector
A field device I/O connector includes a base and an I/O module removably mounted on the base for transmitting I/O signals along an I/O channel. A set of electrical connectors mounted on the base connect the base to a field device. The electrical connectors, the base, and the I/O module mounted on the base cooperate to define the I/O channel. The I/O channel includes a conversion circuit to convert between I/O signals and a digital data format output from the field device I/O connector. The base and I/O module also cooperate to define a diagnostic circuit connected to the portion of the I/O channel extending through the I/O module. The diagnostic circuit extends to a diagnostic logic circuit that may be included on the base, in the I/O module, or away from the field device I/O connector.
