Several transportable datacenters are described. The transportable datacenters include transport systems allowing them to be transported between an assembly location and an operating location. The transportable datacenters also include a ventilation system for cooling processors positioned in racks in the datacenters. The ventilation system draws cold air from the environment, through processor bays containing the processors and then exhausts the air back to the environment.

A modular data center and a method of building a modular data center. The modular data center includes a site microgrid including at least one power converter connected to a direct current (DC) bus and a digital power system. The digital power system includes at least one digital power transmitter, a set of transmission lines, and at least one digital power receiver. The modular data center design uses an adiabatic cooling system to cool the modular data center.

Disclosed is an integrated data center that provides for efficient cooling as well as efficient wire routing. The data center houses electronic equipment stored in clusters of cabinets. The space inside the data center is shared, such as on a leased basis, between multiple different entities who operate their own electronic equipment. To achieve privacy, security, and cooling air flow, one or more layers of a security paneling surround one or more clusters of cabinets to create a secure interior space. This allows access to only authorized personal, prevents people from viewing into the secure interior space, and allows cooling air flow to pass into the secure interior space to cool the electronic equipment. The security paneling comprises sheets of metal with small apertures. Two or more security panels may be arranged with offset apertures to further prevent viewing of the electronic equipment in the secure interior space.

A cooling system for a datacenter is disclosed. An evaporative cooling subsystem provides blown air for cooling the datacenter and a repurposable refrigerant cooling subsystem controls moisture of the blown air in a first configuration and independently cools the datacenter in a second configuration.

A self-standing data center infrastructure system includes a bottom frame and a collapsible top frame that are configured to be inserted into a standard shipping container for transport to a data center location. At the data center location, the bottom frame is secured to a floor of the data center and the top frame is mounted as a pre-assembled unit on the bottom frame. The top frame is then expanded to provide infrastructure support to one or more rows of racks. Also, the racks may be secured to the bottom frame without the need for additional anchoring of the racks.

Provided is a process, including: receiving, with a rack-controller, via a first network, an application program interface (API) request; based on the API request, selecting, with the rack-controller, one of a plurality of routines to effectuate control via the second network of at least some of the plurality of rack-mounted computing devices; executing, with the rack-controller, the selected routine and, as a result, sending one or more commands via the second network encoded in a second protocol different from the first protocol to effectuate an action indicated by the API request.

A method is provided for positioning a data center rack relative to a rack-supporting frame. The method includes connecting at least one front attachment member to the data center rack on a front side thereof such that part of one of the at least one front attachment member and part of one of the at least one front attachment member extend leftward from a left end and rightward from a right end respectively of the data center rack; lifting and inserting the data center rack between a left and a right vertical support units until the at least one front attachment member abuts the left and right vertical support units; and moving the data center rack leftward or rightward until a hook portion of the at least one front attachment member engages the left or right vertical support unit to set a lateral position of the data center rack.
