Data center network tunnel
An underground networking tunnel may be installed at a data center construction site prior to completion of a data center being constructed at the data center construction site. Networking equipment in the underground networking tunnel may be configured and commissioned concurrently with construction of the data center. Also data center power and cooling systems may service the underground networking subsequent to construction of a data center above the underground networking tunnel.
Data center stranded power recovery design
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described that enable the recovery of stranded power in a data center. For example, a power distribution system for recovering stranded power in a data center includes a first power distribution unit (PDU), a first busway segment that is operable to electrically connect the first PDU to a first set of server racks in a first row of server racks, a second busway segment that is operable to electrically connect the first PDU to a second set of server racks in a second row of server racks, a second PDU, a third busway segment that is operable to electrically connect the second PDU to a third set of server racks in a third row of server racks, and a fourth busway segment that is operable to electrically connect the second PDU to a fourth set of server racks in the second row of server racks.
TRANSPORTABLE DATACENTER
Several transportable datacenters are described. The transportable datacenters include transport systems allowing them to be transported between an assembly location and an operating location. The transportable datacenters also include a ventilation system for cooling processors positioned in racks in the datacenters. The ventilation system draws cold air from the environment, through processor bays containing the processors and then exhausts the air back to the environment.
MANAGING A DATA CENTER
A data center system includes a frame assembly that includes a plurality of bays defined along a lengthwise dimension of the frame assembly, the plurality of bays arranged in a plurality of stacked layers of bays, the plurality of stacked layers including at least a first layer of bays and a second layer of bays positioned vertically above the first layer of bays; a plurality of server racks positioned in the bays of the first layer of bays, each of the server racks configured to support a plurality of data center server devices that define a particular amount of computing power; and a plurality of network switches positioned in the bays of the second layer of bays, each of the network switches communicably coupled to at least one of the data center server devices in the first layer of bays.
System, device, and method of reinforcement for raised-floors and for equipment thereon
System, device, and method of reinforcement for raised-floors and for equipment thereon. A system includes a vertical support member to fixedly connect to a top-tier of a raised-floor and to a bottom-tier of the raised floor. The vertical support member includes an internal rod surrounded by an external pipe. The internal rod and the external pipe are connected via a top-side cap and a bottom-side cap. A modular-length slanted support member is further connected to the vertical support member. The slanted support member is fixedly connected to the bottom-tier of the raised floor, or to another, neighboring, vertical support member.
Modular data center
Provided is a modular datacenter having a moveable rack assembly configured to selectively provide access to rack-mounted computing devices, with access barriers selectively providing access to rack-mounted computing devices within an exposed rack or portion of a rack or device mounted thereon, safety interlocks controlling when the rack assembly moves, and space-efficient thermal management systems.
Collapsible and expandable data center infrastructure modules
A data center infrastructure module enables multiple data center infrastructure systems to be simultaneously installed in a data center (as opposed to sequentially installing the respective data center infrastructure systems). The data center infrastructure module includes a collapsible frame and one or more data center infrastructure system components coupled to the collapsible frame. The data center infrastructure module may be pre-assembled remotely from a data center location and may be transported to the data center location in a collapsed state. At the data center location, the pre-assembled data center infrastructure module may be expanded and installed between self-standing frames.
Submerged, Self-Sustained Waterborne Data Center Facility
A self-sustained, submerged waterborne data center facility that utilizes a closed-looped heat management system that is both energy-efficient and cost-effective is disclosed. Embodiments employ a closed-looped, energy efficient, cost effective thermal management system that leverages natural resources to control thermal conditions and reduce the overall requirement for cooling power.
MODULAR ROOF MOUNTED COOLING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DATA CENTER
The present disclosure relates to a roof mounted modular cooling unit (RMC unit) which is adapted for use above a unit IT structure being used to help form a data center. The RMC unit has a housing configured to be secured perpendicularly relative to a longitudinal axis of a frame of a modular unit IT structure. The housing has a cold air discharge compartment at one end thereof, overlaying a cold aisle formed within the unit IT structure, from which cold air from the modular cooling unit is discharged into the cold aisle, and a hot air intake compartment selectively located to overlay the hot aisle, into which hot air from the hot aisle is drawn. A width of the RMC unit is sufficient to substantially span a full width of the one of the equipment racks.
Supplemental support structure for hot aisle/cold aisle forming apparatus and method of providing supplemental support for hot aisle/cold aisle forming apparatus
Supplemental support structure for a hot aisle/cold aisle forming apparatus having vertical supports and a grid of parallel and perpendicular rows of elongated grid members attached to and supported by the vertical supports is disclosed. The supplemental support structure may include vertical support caps attached to the hot aisle/cold aisle forming apparatus above the vertical supports and the grid of parallel and perpendicular rows of elongated grid members and a grid of elongated cross supports. Each of the elongated cross supports may be connected to and supported by at least two of the vertical support caps at an angle of other than 0, 90, 180, and 270 with the parallel and perpendicular rows of elongated grid members.
