Racks and rack systems to support a plurality of sleds are disclosed herein. A rack comprises an elongated support post and a plurality of support chassis. The elongated support post extends vertically. The plurality of support chassis are coupled to the elongated support post. Each support chassis of the plurality of support chassis is sized to house a corresponding sled of the plurality of sleds.

Managing power to electrical systems

A data center includes rack computing systems, electrical power system, and a circuit control device. The rack computing systems may include a rack and computing devices coupled to the rack. The electrical power system supplies power to computing devices in the racks. Each electrical power system may include overcurrent protection devices that protect computing devices in the rack computing systems from overcurrent conditions. The circuit control device is coupled to the overcurrent protection devices. The circuit control device can trigger the circuit protection devices to shed loads on the electrical power system from computing devices in the rack computing systems.

Combined Slot And Backplane Identification

An identification circuit for determining a chassis identification and a slot identification within the chassis using a single reading. The circuit includes a first electrical component associated with a first slot of a first chassis, where the first electrical component has a first value. A second electrical component is associated with a second slot of the first chassis, where the second electrical component has a second value that is different from the first value. A removable card has a third electrical component with a third value, where the removable card inserts into a selected one of the first slot and the second slot of the first chassis. A measuring circuit measures an interaction between the third electrical component and the associated one of the first electrical component and the second electrical component, where the interaction has a fourth value. The fourth value of the interaction identifies both the first chassis and the selected slot into which the removable card is inserted.

System and method for monitoring and managing data center resources incorporating a common data model repository

A system is disclosed that forms a base platform that enables a plurality of objects to be used in forming a plurality of different domain models. The system may have a common data model repository (CDMR) having an object relational mapping layer for mapping instances of the objects to persistent storage. The instances of objects may represent information that includes connections and control capabilities for at least certain ones of the instances of objects, and the CDMR may implement the connections and control capabilities in relation to managed elements.

Locking power supplies

There is provided an apparatus, a method and computer program product for managing one or more components of an electronic machine. A user connects one or more components to an electronic machine in parallel. The electronic machine determines whether the components are failed. A latch device, attached to each component, automatically locks one or more of the components to the electronic machine if the one or more of the components are not failed. The electromechanical latch automatically releases the one or more of the components from the electronic machine if the one or more of the components are failed.

A cabinet includes a cabinet body, a monitoring system main unit and several connection interfaces. The cabinet body includes an accommodation chamber surrounded by an inside wall for accommodating electronic machines. The monitoring system main unit is mounted inside the cabinet body. The monitoring system main unit has signal lines arranged within the accommodation chamber. The connection interfaces are respectively and electrically connected to the signal lines and disposed within the accommodation chamber for the installation of different sensors. The monitoring system main unit includes a storage unit, a display unit, connection ports, a network interface and a control unit, so the monitoring system main unit is capable of displaying the data of the sensors on the display unit or a remote computer.

STATIC DATA CENTER POWER BALANCING AND CONFIGURATION

A system to select graphics processing units (GPUs) to execute a task is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, GPUs are selected based on one or more task parameters and one or more fused parameters.

Management of securable computing resources

A system is provided and includes a resource, locking elements and a controller. The resource includes multiple independently securable resources. The locking elements are respectively configured to assume a locked condition in which corresponding ones of the multiple independently securable resources are locked and an unlocked condition in which the corresponding ones of the multiple securable resources are unlocked. The controller is receptive of an instruction to authorize users to unlock the one or more of the multiple independently securable resources and is configured to perform operating system (OS) level authentication of the users and OS level control of the locking elements in accordance with the instruction to authorize users and the OS level authentication.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR SWITCHING NETWORK TRAFFIC IN A DATA CENTER

Technologies for switching network traffic include a network switch. The network switch includes one or more processors and communication circuitry coupled to the one or more processors. The communication circuity is capable of switching network traffic of multiple link layer protocols. Additionally, the network switch includes one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed, cause the network switch to receive, with the communication circuitry through an optical connection, network traffic to be forwarded, and determine a link layer protocol of the received network traffic. The instructions additionally cause the network switch to forward the network traffic as a function of the determined link layer protocol. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
