Air Freshener

An air freshener has a rigidifying core defining a central axis, and an outer portion or sleeve contacting the core that is formed from one or more fragrance loaded polymers. Together, the core and outer portion are shaped to surround a first axis perpendicular to the central axis. The air freshener is made by injection molding a first shot of at least one polymer material to form the core, and injection molding a second shot of at least one polymer material incorporating one or more fragrance materials over or onto or into at least a portion of the core. The second shot of polymer material may be stretched about the portion of the core during injection molding, and may flow into a first hole formed in the core at or near the core distal end, and fills a second hole formed in the core at or near the core proximal end.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A HONEY BEE PARASITIC MITE INFESTATION
20190343126 · 2019-11-14 ·

The present invention relates to a formula or composition for use in reducing a honey bee parasitic mite infestation that may comprise, for example, a liquid, solid, or paste composition, comprising about 5-20% beta acids (about 5-75% by weight), about 5-75% by weight propylene glycol, about 5-75% by weight polysorbate 60, about 0.5- 35% of a thixotropic material, such as fumed silica, and/or about 0.5-5% pf an antioxidant, such as ascorbic acid, the composition is active against parasitic mites for more than about 14 days in the bee hives. Compositions of the present invention provide effective control, treatment, or prevention of honey bee parasitic mite infestation by inclusion of, for example, certain excipients that retard beta acid oxidation, prolong availability of active ingredient for bee uptake, improve convenience for beekeepers, or both retard beta acid oxidation and prolong the availability of active ingredient for bee uptake.

Volatile composition dispenser with increased membrane exposure and volatile composition weight loss

A volatile composition dispenser includes a housing having opposing first and second walls that are joined along their peripheries to one another. The first wall has an aperture and the second wall has a plurality of apertures. Within the housing, rests a volatile composition cartridge and a gap, which exists between the cartridge and a bottom surface of the housing, wherein said bottom surface is formed from a joinder of a base portion of one or both of the first and second walls, and wherein, upon activation, the exposure percentage of the dispenser is from about 40% to about 90%; wherein at least about 60% of the total surface area of the plurality of apertures results from individual apertures of said plurality that each have an area of at least 30 mm.sup.2 and an aspect ratio of at least about 1:2. Dispenser of a similar housing, cartridge, and gap when is activated by a user and thirty days after said activation, exhibits about 70% to 90% weight loss of said volatile composition of a partially exposed membrane of a fully exposed membrane.

DISPENSER AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF

A substrate for emitting a volatile material, the substrate comprising a first woven layer, a second woven layer, and a third layer. The first woven layer has a first weave pattern. The second woven layer has a second weave pattern that is different than the first weave pattern. The third layer is disposed between the first woven layer and the second woven layer. Further, the substrate is configured to provide a steady state weight loss of the volatile material between about 1 mg/day and about 10 mg/day over a time of at least 30 days.
