An electronic component includes a body including internal electrodes; an insulating layer disposed on side surfaces of the body and at least one of an upper surface of the body and a lower surface of the body; and an external electrode disposed on an end surface of the body and connected to the internal electrodes. The external electrode extends to at least one of the upper surface of the body, the lower surface of the body, and the side surfaces of the body, and partially overlaps the insulating layer.

The electronic device further includes a control element that controls a switching operation of the power element, a second conductive layer to which the control element is electrically coupled, and a resin layer arranged between the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer. The power element is embedded in the resin layer. The first conductive layer, the resin layer, and the second conductive layer are stacked on the heat dissipation member in this order from the ones closer to the heat dissipation member.

PASSIVE DEVICE ASSEMBLY FOR ACCURATE GROUND PLANE CONTROL

Passive device assembly for accurate ground plane control is disclosed. A passive device assembly includes a device substrate conductively coupled to a ground plane separation control substrate. A passive device disposed on a lower surface of the device substrate is separated from an embedded ground plane mounted on a lower surface of the ground plane separation control substrate by a separation distance. The separation distance is accurately controlled to minimize undesirable interference that may occur to the passive device. The separation distance is provided inside the passive device assembly. Conductive mounting pads are disposed on the lower surface of the ground plane separation control substrate to support accurate alignment of the passive device assembly on a circuit board. By providing sufficient separation distance inside the passive device assembly, the passive device assembly can be precisely mounted onto any circuit board regardless of specific design and layout of the circuit board.

The multilayer circuit board includes two embedded electrically conductive layers that are separated from the first and second sides by layers of composite fiber, and an embedded dielectric layer disposed between the two embedded electrically conductive layers. The embedded dielectric layer has a higher dielectric constant than the layers of composite fiber.

A printed circuit board package structure includes a substrate, plural ring-shaped magnetic elements, a support layer, and first conductive layers. The substrate has two opposite first and second surfaces, first ring-shaped recesses, and first grooves. Each of the first ring-shaped recesses is communicated with another first ring-shaped recess through at least one of the first grooves, and at least two of the first ring-shaped recesses are communicated with a side surface of the substrate through the first grooves to form at least two openings. The ring-shaped magnetic elements are respectively located in the first ring-shaped recesses. The support layer is located on the first surface, and covers the first ring-shaped recesses and the first grooves. The support layer and the substrate have through holes. The first conductive layers are respectively located on surfaces of support layer and substrate facing the through holes.
