Products and Methods for Assessing and Increasing Klotho Protein Levels

Disclosed are products and methods for monitoring Klotho protein levels and for stabilizing Klotho protein in a mammalian blood sample, especially at room temperature or without freezing, for a period of time. Methods of detecting and quantifying Klotho protein levels, particularly endogenous and/or exogenous soluble alpha Klotho protein levels, methods of diagnosing Klotho protein deficiency, and methods of increasing Klotho protein levels or production, particularly endogenous and/or exogenous soluble alpha Klotho protein level(s), expression, or production, in a mammalian subject, and products useful in performing the same, including diagnostic kits and compositions for treating Klotho protein deficiency, are disclosed. Compositions are configured or formulated to augment natural soluble alpha Klotho protein production, attenuate Klotho protein damage or degradation, and/or supplement Klotho protein levels with exogenous, recombinant protein. Treatment methods and uses include administration of the compositions to human or non-human mammalian subjects.

SPERM PROCESSING METHOD, APPARATUS AND RELATED MEDIA COMPOSITIONS

Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to processes, systems, and compositions useful in manipulating a ratio of viable X chromosome bearing sperm to viable Y chromosome bearing sperm in at least one sperm population and useful for preserving the resulting manipulated sperm population. In some embodiments a cryoprotectant may be incorporated into various medias used in manipulating the sperm sample, such as in a staining media, a sheath fluid, and a collection media.

PERACETIC ACID ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITION SYSTEM AND METHOD
20230263159 · 2023-08-24 ·

An antimicrobial composition includes peracetic acid and witch hazel extract. The peracetic acid can be formed by combining and reacting the acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide, for example at the point of use. Alternatively, the peracetic acid may be formed separately and mixed with the witch hazel extract prior to use. The resulting peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide are, thus, combined with the witch hazel extract prior to use. The combination of peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and witch hazel extract may be applied as an antimicrobial. The antimicrobial composition may be applied topically to various organs (e.g., skin, nose, ears, mouth, throat, urethra, urinary bladder, gastrointestinal organs) or instilled through an indwelling urinary catheter or applied or inserted as a topical additive or coating to devices or other organ surfaces or other medical devices, or on the skin of the body or surfaces of inanimate objects.
