An aerosol generating device includes: a case into which a cigarette is to be inserted; a cap detachably coupled to a top portion of the case; a cover configured to slide on a top surface of the cap so as to open or close a cigarette insertion hole; a first sensor configured to sense whether the cigarette insertion hole is open or closed; and a controller configured to determine whether the cigarette insertion hole is open or closed based on a signal sensed by the first sensor and set an operational mode of the aerosol generating device as an ON mode or an OFF mode based on a result of the determining.

AEROSOL GENERATING DEVICE
An aerosol generating device includes at least one heater, a battery, and a controller, and generates aerosol by heating a cigarette. The aerosol generating device according to the present exemplary embodiment includes a main printed circuit board (PCB) and an auxiliary PCB formed out of a rigid material and a connecting PCB formed out of a flexible material, and the connecting PCB may electrically connect the main PCB to the auxiliary PCB. Also, the aerosol generating device according to the present exemplary embodiment may include a rigid-flexible PCB.

A control unit for an apparatus, the control unit comprising: a component-carrying member provided with at least one electronic component configured to provide a function of the apparatus; wherein the component-carrying member is formed of a material that is pliable at least during assembly of the control unit; and a laminate encapsulation layer encapsulating at least a part of the or each electronic component. Provided is an aerosol generation device including: a case into which a cigarette is insertable; a heater arranged in the case and configured to heat the cigarette inserted into the case; a mainstream smoke passage connecting an internal end portion of the cigarette to the outside; and a vaporizer configured to heat a liquid composition to generate aerosol and deliver the aerosol to the mainstream smoke passage, wherein at least a portion of the mainstream smoke passage extends in a direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the cigarette.

Component Stability Structure
An electronic component assembly is described which comprises a stack of electronic components wherein each electronic component comprises a face and external terminations. A component stability structure is attached to at least one face. A circuit board is provided wherein the circuit board comprises circuit traces arranged for electrical engagement with the external terminations. The component stability structure mechanically engages with the circuit board and inhibits the electronic device from moving relative to the circuit board.
