Printed circuit board, a terminal and a method of assembling a printed circuit board module

Embodiments herein relate to a Printed Circuit Board, PCB, (1) and a terminal (2) for connecting the PCB (1) to an electrical component. The PCB (1) comprises a through-hole (11) for receiving the terminal (2). The through-hole (11) has a partially open side wall (12), wherein the side wall (12) is open along at least a part of a length (L) of the 5 through-hole (11) perpendicular to a radius (R) of the through-hole (11). This allows the terminal (2) to protrude through the open side wall (12) when received by the through-hole (11), such that a position of the terminal (2) is adjustable along the length of the open side wall (12). The terminal (2) comprises a base (21), adapted to be received by the through-hole (11) of the PCB (1) and to create a press fit with the side wall (12) of the through-hole 10 (11), and a pin (22) projecting from a surface (23) of the base (21). The pin (22) is adapted to protrude through the open side wall (12), when the base (21) is inserted into the through-hole (11) of the PCB (1). Furthermore, embodiments herein relate to a method for assembling a PCB module (120) comprising the terminal (2) and the PCB (1).

A test assembly includes multiple circuit boards. Each board includes multiple pairs of contacts configurable to address the respective circuit board, an instrument, first and second headers at opposing edges of the respective board. Each pin of a first header electrically connects through the board to a corresponding pin of a second header. Each board includes first and second input/output (I/O) terminals at opposing edges of the respective board, the first I/O terminal electrically connects through the board to the second I/O terminal. A relay on the board permits the board's instrument to be activated. Each of the circuit boards mechanically and electrically connects to another circuit board through a jumper cable connecting the first header of one circuit board to the second header of another circuit board and through a conductive member electrically connecting the first I/O terminal of one board to the second I/O terminal of another board.

The circuit board may include a tie-bar residual extending from a sidewall of the circuit board beyond the width across the first surface. The modules may also include an overmold at least partially encapsulating the circuit board. The overmold may be characterized by a first height extending normal to the first surface of the circuit board across the width of the circuit board. The overmold may extend laterally beyond the width along a length of the first surface. The overmold may define a region about the tie-bar residual characterized by a recessed height. The overmold may define a notch recessed from an outer edge of the overmold. The notch may be located across the tie-bar residual.

A miniature probe for measuring small voltage signals of a DUT includes a probe body having a flexible substrate and signal transmission lines running a longitudinally, and a first probe connection circuit located at a first end of the probe body and including exposed wires, SMT components coupled between the exposed wires and the signal transmission lines, respectively, and a local mechanical stiffener mounted adjacent the SMT components. The wires are connectable to the DUT for receiving the voltage signals. The probe further includes a second probe connection circuit located at a second end of the probe body, and including transmission line connectors coupled to the signal transmission lines, respectively, and a bent portion of the flexible substrate between the probe body and the transmission line connectors. The bent portion enables the transmission line connectors to exit the probe substantially axially, relative to the longitudinal length of the probe body.
