The present invention relates generally to tissue container systems that find use in the transport of tissues and methods of using the tissue container systems. In particular the present invention relates to systems that support the transport, thawing and use of cryopreserved human skin equivalents, and methods of their use by a health care provider.

GRAFT TRANSPORTATION AND IMPLANTATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE

A graft holder for securely transporting a graft, the graft holder including a base surface; and a cavity extended from the base surface and formed from one or more walls, the cavity configured so the graft is securely nested therewith when being transported between locations so as to minimize damage and/or impact to the graft during transport.

TRANSPORT CONTAINER

BAG HOLDER FOR BLAST FREEZING
20220295784 · 2022-09-22 ·

A bag holder for a blast freezing process includes a bag tray. The bag tray is genderless and can be combined with an identical bag tray to form the bag holder. The bag holder includes a basin, side walls, and an end wall. The first and second side walls each include a set of alternating extended and recessed sections and a channel extending through at least a portion of the set of alternating extended and recessed sections. The alternating extended and recessed sections are offset from one another such that where a set on one side wall has an extended section, the set on the other side wall has a recessed section and vice versa. Methods include forming these bag trays, and placing a bag in one bag tray, then joining another bag tray to form the holder around the bag.

BIOLOGICAL COLLECTION SYSTEM

The disclosure relates to devices, solutions and methods for collecting and processing samples of bodily fluids containing cells (as well as embodiments for the collection, and processing and/or analysis of other fluids including toxic and/or hazardous substances/fluids). In addition, the disclosure relates generally to function genomic studies and to the isolation and preservation of cells from saliva and other bodily fluids (e.g., urine), for cellular analysis. With respect to devices for collection of bodily fluids, some embodiments include two mating bodies, a cap and a tube (for example), where, in some embodiments, the cap includes a closed interior space for holding a sample preservative solution and mates with the tube to constitute the (closed) sample collection device. Upon mating, the preservation solution flows into the closed interior space to preserve cells in the bodily fluid. The tube is configured to receive a donor sample of bodily fluid (e.g., saliva, urine), which can then be subjected to processing to extract a plurality of cells. The plurality of cells can be further processed to isolate one and/or another cell type therefrom. The plurality of cells, as well as the isolated cell type(s), can be analyzed for functional genomic and epigenetic studies, as well as biomarker discovery.

Container System and Method for Freezing and Thawing a Liquid Product

Container system and method for freezing (and subsequently thawing) a liquid such as a drug substance, such that all containers in a set have a uniform width, hence uniform freeze-path length, in the widthwise direction and perpendicular to major walls of the containers, irrespective of the particular length, height, and volumetric capacity of the various containers in the set. This leads to uniform freezing performance and thereby reduces cryoconcentration. The system also eliminates or reduces ice-bridging, and the potential for containers rupturing during freezing and thawing operations.

WORKSTATION AND APPARATUS TO FACILITATE TRANSFER OF BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS STORED AT CRYOGENIC CONDITIONS
20220087254 · 2022-03-24 ·

A system and method facilitates transfers of specimen containers (e.g., vials with caps) between storage cassettes and carrier cassettes. The storage cassettes are designed to be stored in cryogenic refrigerators while the carrier cassettes are designed to be temporarily stored in a portable carrier. A workstation includes a well and removable buckets positioned in the well. The buckets are sized to hold the storage cassettes and carrier cassettes. One or more arrays of antennas underlie the well to allow interrogation of wireless transponders carried by the specimen containers. Improved storage cassettes and carrier cassettes are also described.

LIVING BODY SPECIMEN TRANSPORT DEVICE
20220079141 · 2022-03-17 ·

A living body specimen transport device for receiving multiple living body specimens has a frame, a rotating bracket, and a storage assembly. The rotating bracket can be rotated with respect to the frame. The storage assembly can receive a container with a living body specimen and be rotated with respect to the rotating bracket. A center of gravity of the storage assembly is lower than a pivoting point where the rotating bracket is mounted on the frame and a pivoting point where the storage assembly is mounted on the rotating bracket. With such structure, even when the living body specimen transport device is vibrated and shaken during transporting and then the frame of the living body specimen transport device is tilted or turned over, the rotating bracket and the storage assembly can rotate to be vertical by themselves, which keeps the living body specimen being soaked in the preservation solution.
