USE OF SESQUITERPENES AND THEIR ANALOGS AS GREEN INSECTICIDES FOR CONTROLLING DISEASE VECTORS AND PLANT PESTS
Applicant's invention relates to a new class of green insecticides for controlling agricultural, medical and veterinary pests. Applicants have identified and optimized natural compounds derived from Madagascan plants that exhibit insecticidal activity on important insect vectors (e.g., mosquitoes) and agricultural pests (e.g., soybean aphids). Plants of the genera Canellaceae, more specifically Cinnamosma, are shown herein to possess sesquiterpene compounds useful for compositions herein. The invention includes novel pesticide compositions, optimized components and methods of use.
ATTRACTANTS FOR MICE
Compositions attractive to mice include one or more additives. The additives can include 2-sec-butyl-4,5-dihydrothiazole and/or 3,4-dehydro-ero-brevicomin, which can be isolated, purified and/or synthetic. In addition to these additives, the compositions can also include a lethal agent, such as, an anticoagulant or a toxicant, a chemostenlant and/or food. Devices and methods of using the composition are also disclosed.

Plant disease control composition and method for controlling plant disease by application of same
Provided is a plant disease control composition that has a plurality of disease spectra against various plant pathogens and demonstrates superior control effects (synergistic control effects) that cannot be predicted from each component alone. The plant disease control composition comprises as active ingredients thereof at least one quinoline compounds represented by the following general formula: ##STR00001##
wherein, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent, for example, optionally substituted alkyl groups or optionally substituted aryl groups, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 represent, for example, hydrogen atoms, fluorine atom or methyl group, X represents, for example, a halogen atom or optionally substituted alkyl group, and Y represents a fluorine atom or methyl group, n is 0 to 2 and m is 0 or 1, or a salt thereof (group a), and one or more fungicidal compounds selected from group b.

Synergistic preservative compositions, process for preparing the same and method of use thereof
Described herein is a synergistic preservative composition used for providing broad spectrum antimicrobial activity comprising: (i) about 0.1 wt. % to about 99.9 wt. % of propylene carbonate; (ii) about 0.1 wt. % to about 99.9 wt. % of one or more organic compounds selected from the group consisting of propanediol, capryl hydroxamic acid, and isopropyl methyl phenol; and (iii) about 0.1 wt. % to 99.0 wt. % of phenoxyethanol, a preservative compound, and wherein, the composition provides synergy having Synergy Index (SI) value of the total composition from about 0.05 to about 1.0. Also described is a process for preparing said synergistic preservative composition and method of using the same.
