Embodiments of the disclosed subject matter provide a display including a plurality of emissive surfaces, where each of the plurality of emissive surfaces has emissive devices that are deposited or attached in the same plane, with each of the plurality of emissive surfaces configured with independent scan and data drivers. The display may be configured to display an image that is a combination of light from the plurality of emissive surfaces, wherein each of the plurality of emissive surfaces renders an image that differs by at least one selected from the group consisting of: color resolution, fill-factor, viewing angle, and transparency. Embodiments also provide an augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), or mixed reality (MR) system having a plurality of displays that each rendering an image based on the provided light of a different color spectrum, and one or more waveguides through which the light from the displays is combined.

DISPLAY APPARATUS

A display apparatus includes: a first substrate having a front surface and a rear surface; a first display layer disposed on the front surface of the first substrate, the first display layer configured to emit light in a front direction; a second display layer disposed on the rear surface of the first substrate, the second display layer configured to emit light in a rear direction; and a pressure sensor disposed on the rear surface of the first substrate, the pressure sensor configured to sense a pressure of a touch of a user.

A display device includes a pixel matrix configured to emit light, a first display screen which faces in a first direction, a second display screen which faces in a second direction, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the pixel matrix to emit light which passes through the first display screen and passes into surroundings of the display device in the first direction so that graphical content is displayed on the first display screen, based on image data that define the graphical content. The controller is also configured to operate in a first display mode in which graphical content as defined by image data is only displayed on the first display screen and the second display screen is deactivated, and a second display mode in which identical graphical content is displayed on both the first display screen and the second display screen.

Double-sided display panel and method for manufacturing the same

A double-sided display panel and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The double-sided display panel includes: a first substrate; a second substrate opposite to first substrate; a first display unit between the first substrate and the second substrate, the first display unit including a first luminescent layer and a first reflective layer which is closer to the second substrate than the first luminescent layer, wherein at least a part of light emitted from the first luminescent layer is reflected by the first reflective layer and emitted out through the first substrate; and a second display unit between the first substrate and second substrate, including a second luminescent layer, wherein light emitted from the second luminescent layer is emitted out through the second substrate. The first display unit includes a transparent electrode and a conductive contact layer which electrically connects the transparent electrode with the first reflective layer.

Dual-sided displays

In example implementations, a display is provided. The display includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a first plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) that emit light in a first direction. The second portion includes a combination of the first plurality of LEDs that emit light in the first direction and a second plurality of LEDs that emit light in a second direction that is opposite the first direction to form a dual-sided display.

The isolation structure includes at least two layer structures stacked in sequence along a direction perpendicular to a surface of the substrate. At least one of the at least two layer structures has a width varied continuously or intermittently along an extending direction of the isolation structure. The extending direction of the isolation structure is parallel to the surface of the substrate. The width of the layer structure refers to a size of a projection, along a direction perpendicular to the extending direction, of the layer structure on a plane coplanar with the surface of the substrate.
