Crosslinkable polymeric compositions with amine-functionalized interpolymers, methods for making the same, and articles made therefrom
Crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising an ethylene-based polymer, an organic peroxide, and an amine-functionalized interpolymer. Such crosslinkable polymeric compositions and their crosslinked forms can be employed as polymeric layers in wire and cable applications, such as insulation in power cables.
Cable jacket composition
The present invention relates to a cable jacket composition comprising a multimodal olefin copolymer, said copolymer having density of 0.935-0.960 g/cm.sup.3 and MFR.sub.2 of 2.2-10.0 g/10 min and said composition having ESCR of at least 2000 hours and a cable shrinkage of 0.70% or lower. The invention further relates to the process for preparing said composition and its use as outer jacket layer for a cable, preferably a communication cable, most preferably a fiber optic cable.
POWER CABLE HAVING MULTIPLE LAYERS INCLUDING FOAMED PROTECTIVE LAYER
A technique facilitates construction and operation of a power cable which may be used to supply power to an electric submersible pumping system downhole into a wellbore. The power cable comprises at least one electrical conductor. Each electrical conductor is insulated with an insulation layer and protected from deleterious fluids by a fluid barrier layer. Further protection is provided by a protective layer disposed around the fluid barrier layer. The protective layer is foamed to provide a cushion layer and to further protect components of the power cable. An armor layer may be disposed around the protective layer.
Electronic device
An electronic device which includes a radome, a bottom cover connected to the radome, and a printed circuit board disposed between the radome and the bottom cover. The radome includes a top shell, an insulating member and at least one fastening members. The insulating member is made of expanded polystyrene and has at least one recess. The fastening member is embedded in the insulating member. The top shell covers the insulating member and includes polycarbonate.
CROSSLINKABLE RESIN COMPOSITION AND ELECTRIC WIRE/CABLE
An object is to provide a crosslinkable resin composition which does not easily cause an increase in the pressure and a discharge variation in an extruder charged with the crosslinkable resin composition, with which an insulating coating layer can be continuously and stably formed by extrusion molding for a long time, thereby realizing an increase in the production unit of an electric wire/cable.
A crosslinkable resin composition of the present invention contains 100 parts by mass of an ethylene-based resin (A), a stabilizer (B) containing 0.001 to 0.5 parts by mass of a hindered amine light stabilizer (B3), and 0.5 to 3.0 parts by mass of an organic peroxide (C). The hindered amine light stabilizer (B3) is a mixture of a low-molecular-weight hindered amine compound having a molecular weight of 100 to 1,000 and a high-molecular-weight hindered amine compound having a molecular weight of 1,500 to 5,000. The hindered amine light stabilizer (B3) has a reduced viscosity of 3.5 to 5.5 cm.sup.3/g (40° C.) and a reduced viscosity of 2.0 to 3.5 cm.sup.3/g (110° C.).
INSULATED WIRE
An insulated wire includes a conductor, and a flame-retardant insulation layer that includes a resin composition including a flame retardant and is arranged around the conductor, and a water-blocking layer that is arranged around the flame-retardant insulation layer and has a water absorption of not more than 0.5% at saturation. The thickness of the water-blocking layer is not less than 25 μm.
INSULATED WIRE AND CABLE
An insulated wire includes a conductor, a flame-retardant inner layer that is provided around the conductor and includes a metal hydroxide, and a water ingress prevention layer provided around the flame-retardant inner layer. The insulated wire may further include a flame-retardant outer layer provided around the water ingress prevention layer.
REACTIVE COMPOUNDING OF ETHYLENE VINYL ACETATE
The present invention provides a method for producing an at least partially crosslinked polymer composition, having a first melt index (MI) value and a first tensile strength, comprising the steps of: a. providing an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer, the EVA copolymer having a second MI value and a second tensile strength and containing at least 30 wt % units derived from vinyl acetate, b. adding from 0.01 to 0.03 wt % of an organic peroxide, wherein the organic peroxide is diluted in 0.001 to 0.05 wt % of white oil, and c. blending the EVA copolymer and the organic peroxide at a temperature sufficient to initiate crosslinking. The first MI value of the at least partially crosslinked polymer composition is less than 5 g/10 min (190° C., 2.16 kg).
LAYERED STRUCTURE WITH COPPER PASSIVATOR
The present invention relates to a layered structure comprising a copper conductor and a polymer layer adjacent to the copper conductor, more specific to a wire or cable insulation layer that can preserve the copper conductor from discolouration. The polymer layer adjacent to the copper conductor comprises the polymer composition comprising a benzotriazole compound. This prevents discoloration of the copper conductor.
