Headset with magnetic frictional coupler
A headset is described that utilizes magnetic frictional couplers. A coupler includes a first member having a first engagement surface and a second member having a second engagement surface disposed for relative positioning of the first and second members along a line of adjustment. One or more magnetic elements are arranged on the first and second members to establish a magnetic flux between the first engagement surface and the second engagement surface, and thereby establishing a frictional force tending to hold the relative positions of the first and second members. The magnetic flux varies as a function of relative position of the first and second members along the line of adjustment, and has peaks at a plurality of detent positions along the line of adjustment.
Band with magnetic closure mechanism
A band for a wearable device includes a first strap having a magnetic insert defining an array of holes, and a second strap having a magnetic protrusion configured to be at least partially disposed in a respective hole of the array of holes and to magnetically couple to the magnetic insert. A method of manufacturing a magnetic strap for a wearable device includes disposing a magnetizable insert between a first layer and a second layer, and coupling the first layer to the second layer such that the magnetizable insert is retained between the first layer and the second layer. The magnetizable insert includes a magnetizable material suspended in a polymer.
Closure Device for Connecting a Container e.g. to a Bicycle
A closure device for connecting a container to a frame of a vehicle, in particular of a two-wheeler or a three-wheeler, includes a first closure part which is to be arranged on the frame and comprises a first magnet element and a second closure part which is assigned to the container and comprises a second magnet element. The second closure part is positionable on the first closure part in a closing direction and is latched mechanically with the first closure part in a closed position. The second closure part is releasably connectable to the container.
Media door assembly for a marine electronics device
A door assembly for a marine electronics device including a door defining a first end and a second end, a substantially planar surface, at least one hinge element disposed proximate the first end, and a finger recess. The finger recess is sized to enable a user to fit at least a portion of a finger therein to enable movement of the door to an open position. The door assembly also includes a deformable tab disposed at the peripheral edge of the planar surface of the door at the second end. The deformable tab fills the finger recess of the door and is movable between a resting position and a deflected position, is biased to the resting position. Movement of the deformable tab to the deflected position enables the user to move the door to the open position.
Magnetic jewelry clasp
A jewelry clasp is disclosed and includes a first part including a first magnet, a first groove and a first catch and a second part including a second magnet, a second groove and a second catch. The first and second magnets generate an attractive force holding the first part to the second part, the first catch is received in the second groove and the second catch is received in the first groove. A relief disposed on at least one of the first part and the second part at an interface between the first part and the second part is provided to aid in releasing the first part from the second part.
DRAPE CLOSURE
The present disclosure includes a retrofit magnet strip kit and method for mating the vertical edges of two adjacent drapes (110, 120), the kit comprising a first magnet strip (200) and a second magnet strip (200). Each magnet strip (200) comprises a non-magnetic substrate (201) with two major surfaces, wherein the thickness of the substrate (201) is less than 1 cm, the width of the substrate (201) is between 1 cm and 8 cm and the length of the substrate (201) is greater than 20 centimeters (cm), and at least two magnets (210, 220) attached to a first major surface of the substrate (201). The two magnets (210, 220) are spaced apart from each other, and a first edge of the first magnet is at least 5 cm from the nearest edge of the second magnet. The first magnet (210) comprises magnetic material with maximum energy 3 product least 200 kj/m. When the first and second magnet strips are inserted into the vertical hems of two adjacent drapes (110, 120), the magnet strips (210, 220) are attracted to each other and cause the vertical edges of the two adjacent drapes (110, 120) to mate with each other such that the first magnet on the first magnet strip and the first magnet on the second strip mate with each other, and the second magnet on the first magnet strip and the second magnet on the second magnet strip mate with each other.
MAGNETIC CLOSURE SYSTEM
A magnetic closure system includes first and second opposing bodies with permanent magnets disposed on or in sloping surfaces of the bodies to keep the bodies in contact until being pulled apart. The bodies may be rigid, semi-rigid or flexible strips or elongated structures comprised of separate blocks, each block having two divergent sloping surfaces. Whether in strip or block form, each body may be adapted for attachment to a flexible material or fabric, such that the opposing bodies form a magnetic zipper. The magnetic closure system many be used in conjunction with many products, including clothing, curtains, bags, backpacks, purses, mats, tiles, or any other situation wherein materials or fabrics are joined.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTO-ALIGNING PROTRUDING CONNECTORS IN DOCKING INTERFACES
Systems and methods for auto-aligning protruding connectors in docking interfaces are described. In some embodiments, a docking interface may include a male portion comprising: a first magnetic device, a second magnetic device disposed across from the first magnetic device, and a guidepost disposed between the first magnetic device and the second magnetic device, where the guidepost comprises a third magnetic device. The docking interface may also include a female portion comprising a fourth magnetic device and a fifth magnetic device disposed across from the fourth magnetic device leaving a gap between the fourth magnetic device and the fifth magnetic device, where the gap is configured to receive the guidepost.
DEVICES AND ACCESSORIES EMPLOYING A LIVING HINGE
A device incorporating both a magnet and a living hinge may be employed to construct cases to protect electronic devices and to function as a closure for cases and lidded containers. Such cases often can be bent three 360 allowing the cases to be either closed protecting devices therein are closed upon themselves allowing the case to function to secure an electronic device to a substrate such as an article of clothing. The devices of the disclosure can also be used to organize and hold loose items together.
