HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRIC POWER SWITCH WITH CARBON ARCING ELECTRODES AND CARBON DIOXIDE DIELECTRIC GAS
A high voltage electric switch includes contacts with graphite carbon electrode forming the arc gap. In addition, the carbon contacts are located in a chamber containing at least 60% carbon dioxide (CO2) as a dielectric gas to achieve improved arc interrupting performance. In conventional switches, the metallic contacts introduce metallic vapors into the arc plasma that inhibits the ability of the dielectric gas to interrupt high voltage, high current arcs. As the element carbon is inherently present in CO2 gas, the addition of vapors from the carbon electrodes into the dielectric gas does not significantly interfere with the dielectric arc-interrupting performance of the CO2 dielectric gas.

Gas circuit breaker
A gas circuit breaker includes: a fixed arc contact disposed on an axis of motion, whose tip is directed to one side in a first direction that is parallel to the axis of motion; a movable arc contact that can reciprocate along the axis of motion between a position when in contact with the tip of the fixed arc contact and a position when separated from the tip of the fixed arc contact; and a first permanent magnet and a second permanent magnet as a permanent magnet whose magnetic poles are aligned in a second direction that is a direction perpendicular to the first direction. The fixed arc contact has a shape that is gradually widened in a direction away from the axis of motion from the tip toward another side in the first direction.
DEVICE FOR INTERRUPTING NON-SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENTS ONLY, IN PARTICULAR DISCONNECTOR OR EARTHING SWITCH
The present invention relates to a device for interrupting non-short circuit currents only, and in particular relates to a disconnector, more particularly high voltage disconnector, or to an earthing switch, more particularly make-proof earthing switch, and further relates to a low voltage circuit breaker. The device comprises at least two contacts movable in relation to each other between a closed state and an open state and defining an arcing region, in which an arc is generated during a current interrupting operation and in which an arc-quenching medium comprising an organofluorine compound is present. According to the application, a counter-arcing component is allocated to the arcing region, the counter-arcing component being designed for counteracting the generation of an arc and/or being designed for supporting the extinction of an arc.
CONTACTOR WITH ARC SUPPRESSOR
A contactor includes a housing holding fixed contacts and a movable contact and an arc suppressor in the housing having magnet assemblies. The first magnet assembly includes first and second magnets aligned with the first and second contacts and the second magnet assembly includes third and fourth magnets aligned with the first and second contacts. The first and second magnets are arranged in the cavity such that north B-fields of the first and second magnets face in opposite directions. The third and fourth magnets are arranged in the cavity such that north B-fields of the third and fourth magnets face in opposite directions.
SWITCHING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A SWITCHING DEVICE
A switching device includes: a first terminal contact; a first fixed contact arranged at the first terminal contact; a contact bridge; a contact bridge carrier arranged at the contact bridge and having a barrier; a first movable contact arranged at the contact bridge; a second terminal contact; a second fixed contact arranged at the second terminal contact; a second movable contact arranged at the contact bridge; and a magnetic drive assembly including a coil and an armature, the armature being coupled to the contact bridge. The first fixed contact is in contact with the first movable contact in a switched-on state of the switching device. The first fixed contact is free of contact with the first movable contact in a switched-off state of the switching device. The second fixed contact is in contact with the second movable contact in the switched-on state of the switching device.
Electrical switching apparatus comprising an improved arc-quenching device
The present invention relates to an electrical switching apparatus having at least one contact point, an arc-quenching device associated with the contact point, and an arc-blowing device to generate a magnetic blowout field. The arc-quenching device comprises a plurality of quenching elements, which are arranged distributed and spaced from each other in a first direction, wherein the quenching elements each comprise a permanent magnet. The arc arising when the contact point is opened is blown away from the contact point towards the quenching elements by the magnetic blowout field. The magnetic blowout field is at least partially generated or supported by the permanent magnets of the quenching elements. According to the invention, the permanent magnets of the quenching elements are offset with respect to each other in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction.
