DEVICE FOR INTERRUPTING NON-SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENTS ONLY, IN PARTICULAR DISCONNECTOR OR EARTHING SWITCH
The present invention relates to a device for interrupting non-short circuit currents only, and in particular relates to a disconnector, more particularly high voltage disconnector, or to an earthing switch, more particularly make-proof earthing switch, and further relates to a low voltage circuit breaker. The device comprises at least two contacts movable in relation to each other between a closed state and an open state and defining an arcing region, in which an arc is generated during a current interrupting operation and in which an arc-quenching medium comprising an organofluorine compound is present. According to the application, a counter-arcing component is allocated to the arcing region, the counter-arcing component being designed for counteracting the generation of an arc and/or being designed for supporting the extinction of an arc.
Circuit breaker with enhanced arc extinguishing chamber
An electronic circuit breaker comprises an arc interruption mechanism that would enhance arc attraction to arc plates and would reduce the possibilities of an arc escaping from the arc plates. The arc interruption mechanism includes an enhanced arc extinguishing chamber. The arc extinguishing chamber includes a plurality of arc plates having first and second sides. The circuit breaker further comprises a stationary contact plate that includes a first arc runner disposed near the first side of the plurality of arc plates. The circuit breaker further comprises a load terminal that includes a second arc runner disposed near the second side of the plurality of arc plates. As an arc is attracted by the plurality of arc plates and the arc enters the plurality of arc plates, a length of a current path associated with the arc is reduced through the first arc runner and the second arc runner by reducing a resistance of the current path for the arc or by reducing a voltage across the circuit breaker.
High voltage compact fused disconnect switch device with bi-directional magnetic arc deflection assembly
A fused disconnect switch device includes a housing defining an interior volume, and a current path. An arc interruption assembly is located in the interior volume and includes a shell, and a conductor in electrical communication with the current path. At least one arc plate is located between the magnets and the conductor. The magnets cooperate to generate a magnetic field facilitating an interruption of a first arc between the conductor and the first side of the arc chamber and a second arc between the conductor and the second side of the arc chamber.
CONTACTOR WITH ARC SUPPRESSOR
A contactor includes an housing having a cavity, fixed contacts received in the cavity having mating ends in the cavity, a movable contact movable within the cavity between a mated position and an unmated position and engaging the fixed contacts to electrically connect the fixed contacts in the mated position, and a coil assembly in the cavity operated to move the movable contact between the unmated position and the mating position. The contactor includes an arc suppressor in the cavity. The arc suppressor includes a multi-pole magnet having a first magnet having a first pole and a second magnet having a second pole. The first magnet is integrated with the second magnet in a unitary magnet body.

High voltage high current arc extinguishing contactor
An electrical contactor has an arc extinguishing component. The electrical contactor includes a first electrical contact and a second electrical contact that, when the contactor is open, define a gap therebetween. The arc extinguishing component includes a magnet adjacent a first side of the gap and an electrically non-conductive shutter adjacent an opposing second side of the gap. The electrically non-conductive shutter capable of reciprocating from a first position to a second position wherein the first position is outside of the gap and the second position is within the gap.
ELECTRICAL SWITCH
An electrical switch. The electrical switch includes at least one fixed contact and a movable contact contacting the fixed contact. At least one shutter element is arranged to move in synchronism with the movable contact. The shutter element is positioned in an extended position between the fixed contact and the movable contact and in a contracted position outside the patch of the movable contact allowing the movable contact to turn from the open position to the closed position.
High voltage compact fusible disconnect switch device with magnetic arc deflection assembly
A compact fusible disconnect switch device includes a magnetic arc deflection assembly including pairs of magnets disposed about a mechanical switch contact assembly. The magnetic arc deflection assembly facilitates reliable connection and disconnection of DC circuitry operating at a voltage well above 125 VDC with reduced arcing intensity and duration. The pairs of magnets may apply magnetic fields in directions opposing one another to deflect electrical arcs in different directions at different locations in the mechanical switch contact assembly to facilitate high voltage DC switching operation.
Quenching plate arrangement for a switching device
A quenching plate arrangement for a switching device has plural quenching plates for arc splitting and/or lengthening; a guiding plate, the quenching plates being arranged substantially next to one another to firm a stack, the guiding plate laterally delimiting the stack, the guiding plate protruding beyond the quenching plates in a main extension direction; and a DC-suitable switching device having a first contact and a second contact, at least the second contact being movable relative to the first contact, a first and second running rail arrangement for conducting an arc with respective first and second current directions, the two running rail arrangements having respective first and second running rails, the two first and two second running rails respectively running in opposite directions from the first and second contacts, and the first running rails being connected in an electrically conducting manner in closed loop form, with the quenching plate arrangement.
DC vacuum interrupter with multi-polar transverse permanent magnetic structure
The present application discloses a DC vacuum interrupter and the application. The cup-shaped contact of the vacuum interrupter is in a transverse magnetic field. The magnetic core is placed in the contact cup. The magnetic core inside the cup of the contact works with the permanent magnets outside the vacuum interrupter to generate transverse magnetic fields in multiple directions between the contacts. While the contacts are open, the arc burns and moves rapidly along the ring shaped contacts under the transverse field along the tangent line of the contacts. While the arc moves rapidly along the ring-shaped contacts, the arc column passes the permanent magnets structure and works with the magnetic core to generate multi-polar transverse magnetic field. While the arc column makes a turn, the number of the transverse fields which are cut by the arc is same with the number of the permanent magnets set.
