High voltage compact fusible disconnect switch device with magnetic arc deflection assembly
A compact fusible disconnect switch device includes a magnetic arc deflection assembly including at least a pair of magnets disposed about a switch contact assembly. The magnetic arc deflection assembly facilitates reliable connection and disconnection of DC voltage circuitry well above 125 VDC with reduced arcing intensity and duration. Multiple pairs of magnets may apply magnetic fields in directions opposing one another to deflect electrical arcs in different directions at more than one location in the switch contact assembly to facilitate high voltage DC operation.
Switch apparatus for connection with a DC circuit
A switch apparatus usable in a DC circuit employs a rotatable shaft having conductors that are removably connected with two or more pairs of contacts that are situated on line conductors and load conductors and that are connected in parallel by the conductors on the shaft. In rotating the shaft to open the switch, one pair of the contacts is electrically disconnected prior to electrical disconnection of the other pair of contacts. Further rotation of the shaft causes the other pair of contact to eventually become disconnected. Electrical arcs thus form only at the air gaps between the other pair of contacts and the conductor. Magnetic field elements in the form of permanent magnets are situated in the vicinity of the air gaps of only the other pair of contacts and apply Lorentz forces to the arcs to extinguish them.
Arc motivation device
A circuit interrupter including an arc extinguisher which functions to arrest an arc that develops between electrical contacts. The circuit interrupter includes a permanent magnet coupled at opposite ends to two magnetically permeable pole pieces that are configured to drive or urge an arc into toward an arc extinguisher. The device allows for arc motivation due to the magnetic field without requiring the use of electrical power and allows for a rugged, light-weight design.
ELECTRICAL SWITCHING APPARATUS AND SLOT MOTOR THEREFOR
A slot motor is for an electrical switching apparatus. The slot motor includes: a support apparatus including a support element having a first leg and a second leg located opposite the first leg, the first leg having a first inner surface, the second leg having a second inner surface facing the first inner surface; a plurality of permanent magnets including a first permanent magnet and a second permanent magnet, the first permanent magnet being located on the first leg, the second permanent magnet being located on the second leg; and a number of U-shaped plates coupled to the support element. The first inner surface and the second inner surface are located between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet.
Electromagnetic relay
An electromagnetic relay which is improved in arc blocking performance without being increased in size is desired. An electromagnetic relay according to the present invention is provided with a fixed contact, a moving contact which is movable respect to the fixed contact, a pair of magnets which is arranged at the side of the fixed contact and the moving contact so that pole faces with mutually reversed polarity are separated from and face each other and a pair of arc cooling plates which is arranged in a spaces between the magnets and which has first surfaces which face each other across a gap and second surfaces which face a pole face of either of the magnets, respectively.
Arc chamber for a contactor and contactor to extinguish electric arcs
The present invention relates to an arc chamber to extinguish electric arcs for a contactor with an extinguishing system, a blowing device which blows electric arcs into the extinguishing system, and a plurality of lamellar electric arc extinguishing elements between which flow channels are formed, wherein the flow channels each have a scattering section and wherein the scattering sections of adjacent flow channels are formed with different inclinations so that the blown air is deflected into different directions by the flow channels. The invention further relates to a contactor with such an arc chamber.
Air circuit breaker
An air circuit breaker is disclosed. The air circuit breaker according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a cover magnet unit. The cover magnet unit is directly coupled to an upper cover which forms the outer appearance of the air circuit breaker. The cover magnet unit is positioned adjacent to a fixed contact and forms a magnetic field. Due to the formed magnetic field, an electromagnetic force in a direction toward an arc extinguishing unit is applied to a generated arc. Accordingly, the generated arc may be rapidly moved and extinguished. The cover magnet unit is inserted into a surface of the upper cover and is not exposed to the outside. Therefore, the generated arc is not in contact with the cover magnet unit. As a result, the cover magnet unit is not damaged by the generated arc.
Direct-current contactor with additional switching capability for AC loads and a polarity against the preferential current direction
Disclosed is a DC contactor comprising a double break with two contact points, each having a fixed and a movable contact, the movable contacts arranged on a contact bridge. The contactor includes an arc extinguishing device and a blowing device configured to blow a switch arc, which forms at the first contact point when the contact points are being opened, into the arc extinguishing device, when switching takes place in the preferential current direction. A commutating plate is arranged adjacent the movable contact of the first contact point, the contact bridge and the commutating plate being electrically insulated from one another and the commutating plate being potentially connected to the fixed contact of the second contact point, so that, when switching takes place in the preferential current direction, the switch arc forming at the first contact point jumps from the contact bridge to the commutating plate by the blowing device.
