The at least one vacuum bottle includes axially separable contacts within it, including at least one moveable contact. The vacuum interrupter further includes an operating mechanism including a clevis configured to reciprocate the moveable contact. The vacuum interrupter further includes a seal between the vacuum bottle housing and the operating mechanism sealing the operating mechanism from the interior of the vacuum bottle, wherein the seal includes a first end and a second end, the first end coupled to the clevis and the second end coupled to the vacuum bottle housing.
CIRCUIT BREAKER COMPRISING AN INSULATING HOLLOW TUBE
The invention relates to a circuit breaker (10) for an electricity transport installation, the circuit breaker comprising a tank (12), a vacuum bottle (20) that has a stationary contact (24), a movable contact (26), and sealing means (40), a casing (30) that is arranged inside the tank (12), that electrically connects the movable contact (26) to an electrical conductor (18), and that co-operates with an outside wall of the vacuum bottle (20) to define a volume (42) that is taken to a pressure close to atmospheric pressure, and feeder means for feeding the inside volume (42) of the casing (30), which feeder means pass through the inside volume (14) of the tank (12), the circuit breaker being characterized in that the feeder means for feeding the inside volume (42) of the casing (30) consist in a tubular element (38, 54, 56) made of insulating material.
Integrated Switchgear Assembly
An integrated assembly includes a switchgear apparatus configured for operation at voltages up to 72.5 kV and a mount assembly configured for coupling to a pole and to support the switchgear apparatus from the pole. The mount assembly includes a crossbar, a pole mount configured for coupling to the pole and to be secured to the crossbar at different positions along a length of the crossbar, a mounting bracket configured to support the switchgear apparatus on the crossbar, and a pair of crossbar mounts configured to be secured to the mounting bracket for supporting the mounting bracket on the crossbar at different positions along the length of the crossbar. The mounting bracket includes a pair of flanges that can be secured to either the pair of crossbar mounts or a pole mount bracket configured to support the mounting bracket on the pole.
Connection piece for a switch pole of a switching apparatus
A connection piece is disclosed for a switch pole of a switching apparatus which improves the properties of the switch pole as concerns centering and current-carrying capacity. According to an embodiment of the invention, a connection piece for a switch pole of a switching apparatus is provided for connecting in electrically conductive manner to a movement contact connection pin of a vacuum switching tube disposed in the switch pole. The connection piece includes a centering ring for centering the vacuum switching tube, the centering ring being formed from an electrically conductive material and being connected in electrically conductive manner via at least one connector to a connection region of the connection piece.
VACUUM BREAK SWITCH MASS
An underarm gang operated vacuum break switch (underarm switch) has an electrically live portion under a mounting arm, which provides advantages over the standard vacuum break switch, which have the electrically live portion above the mounting arm. Because the non-electrified mounting arm is above the electrified portion, the underarm switch is safer for perching birds and other wildlife. The nature of the underarm switch also provides other benefits including a disconnect blade that when opened creates a visual gap to ensure electrical discontinuity along with a safety locking arm tied to deactivating the underarm switch. Adding to the safety measures is a visual indicator that shows an electrician when the switch is live and safe to open the disconnect blade. Other safety measures include a shock absorber assembly and inertia slowing mass protecting electrical contacts within the vacuum break switch from failing.
Switchgear with manual trip assembly and mechanical interlock
A switchgear apparatus configured for operation at voltages up to 72.5 kV includes a vacuum interrupter assembly having a fixed contact and a movable contact configured to move relative to the fixed contact between a closed position in which the movable contact is in contact with the fixed contact and an open position in which the movable contact is spaced from the fixed contact. The switchgear apparatus also includes an electromagnetic actuator configured to move the movable contact between the open position and the closed position, a manual trip assembly movable from an initial position to an actuated position to move the movable contact from the closed position to the open position, and a mechanical interlock assembly configured to prevent the movable contact from moving from the open position to the closed position when the manual trip assembly is in the actuated position.
Modular recloser
A switchgear apparatus includes a vacuum interrupter assembly having a movable contact and a stationary contact, a main housing surrounding the vacuum interrupter assembly, and a first terminal electrically coupled to one of the movable contact and the stationary contact, the first terminal extending from the main housing along a first axis. The switchgear apparatus also includes a second terminal electrically coupled to the other of the movable contact and the stationary contact, the second terminal extending from the main housing along a second axis, and a mounting head couplable to the main housing in a plurality of orientations about the first axis.
Three phase vacuum interrupter switch for high voltage distribution systems
A three-phase vacuum interrupter switch assembly for power distribution systems comprises an outer case having at least one window, a plurality of internal disconnect switch assemblies, and a plurality of vacuum interrupter bottle switch assemblies within the case. Each vacuum interrupter bottle switch is coupled in electrical series with a corresponding internal disconnect switch assembly. Because the open/closed state of a bottle switch is not directly observable owing to its sealed interior, a direct visible indication of the state of the three-phase vacuum interrupter switch assembly is provided by a visually detectable contact rod for each internal disconnect switch that is visible through the case window. To prevent potentially serious damage caused by arcing between the contacts of the internal disconnect switch, the internal disconnect switch is prevented from opening or closing when the bottle switches are closed. The case interior is preferably free of oil and/or SF.sub.6 gas.
