The electrical actuator is configured to transition the circuit breaker from the off state to the on state. The capacitor when charged is configured to provide the electrical actuator with the electrical power required to transition the circuit breaker from the off state to the on state. The lever is configured to be moved by an operative. Movement of the lever is configured to charge the capacitor via the electrical generator.

The transmission unit comprises a lever mechanism with a plurality of rollable guiding elements and a rotatable fork-shaped lever, the lever mechanism is coupled to both the control cam and the contact rod of the vacuum interrupter such that a rotation of the control cam generated by the main driving shaft causes a movement of the contact rod due to a guided rotation of the fork-shaped lever by means of rolling of the guiding elements.

A manual opening mechanism for use with an isolation switch of a circuit interrupter is fully integrated into the circuit interrupter. The manual opening mechanism includes a rotating handle that is accessible from the front panel of the circuit interrupter. Rotating the handle applies force to the centerline of the isolation switch drive shaft, which prevents uneven loading and thus optimizes robustness during manual opening of the isolation switch. In addition, the handle has an ergonomic design, and is proportioned to minimize the force that an operator must apply to the handle in order to open the isolation switch.
