SWITCH WITH INTEGRAL OVERCURRENT PROTECTION
20230118335 · 2023-04-20 ·

A switch with an integrated overcurrent protection element can include multiple arc gap between the contacts when opening the circuit during overload protection and switching operations. The switch can include an overcurrent protection element which can make contact with two contact terminals, and which can change to a different shape upon exposure to an overcurrent condition. The overcurrent protection element can also be moved in a direction normal to the two contact terminals between a first position and a second position through the use of a rotary switch to selectively place the overcurrent protection element in contact with the two contact terminals.

Connector with integrated thermal cutoff device for battery pack

A temperature-sensitive battery connector is disclosed. The connector can include a connector body and at least one conductor mounted to the connector body and configured to convey a current signal used to measure voltage from a battery pack or battery cell to a battery management system (BMS). The connector can include a thermal switching device mounted to the connector body and thermally coupled to a terminal of a battery pack or a battery cell. The thermal switching device can be configured to provide an overtemperature signal to the BMS by changing or interrupting a current conducted by at least one conductor when a temperature of the battery pack or battery cell exceeds a threshold temperature.

OVERLOAD RELEASE
20170345599 · 2017-11-30 · ·

An overload release includes a bimetallic element, a tripping slide, a latch and an energy store. In an overload situation the bimetallic element actuates the tripping slide; as a result, the tripping slide actuates the latch, and as a result, the latch allows the movement of the energy store. The latch is provided with a latch area and the energy store is provided with a latching area, the two areas mechanically interacting in the latched state and the latch area being released from the latching area in the unlatched state, when there is an overload, to allow the movement of the energy store. Further, the latch area or the latching area includes a projection.
