In one embodiment, a confectionary comprises 50 to 75 wt. % erythritol, 0 to 75 wt. % of at least one additional sweetener, at least one stabilizer, water, and a first active ingredient. The water may comprise 0.5 to 3 wt. % of the confectionary. The water may have a water activity of from 0.3 to 0.5. The confectionary may be aerated such that the density of the confectionary is 0.05 to 0.3 grams per cubic centimeter.
FOOD BASED DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR TREATMENT OF HEPATIC ENCEPHALOPATHY
Described herein are compositions, methods, and kits for treating hepatic encephalopathy. A composition for treating or preventing hepatic encephalopathy comprises one or more therapeutic agents and a delivery modality comprising an edible food, beverage, candy, or gum. The one or more therapeutic agents are mixed with one or more food ingredients so that the therapeutic agent is incorporated in the delivery modality.
METHOD OF IMPROVING FLAVOR OF A COMPOSITION OF (D)-BETA-HYDROXYBUTYRIC ACID AND (D)-1,3 BUTANEDIOL AND USE AS A NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENT AND THERAPEUTIC AGENT
A method of improving flavor of a combination of a composition for increasing circulating ketone levels is disclosed. A composition containing (D)-?-hydroxybutyric acid (D-BHB), (D)-?-hydroxyvaleric acid (D-BHV), and (D)-1,3 butanediol (D-1,3BD) is disclosed. Exemplary compositions may be incorporated into food, supplement, and beverage products.
CHEWABLE VITAMIN FORMULATION WITH NO ADDED SUGAR FOR THE PROMOTION OF SATIETY
This disclosure relates to compositions with nourishing properties that provide satiety to the consumer, where the composition may further provide nutritional functions due to the vitamin input(s) of its formulation, associated to various components, including compositions where no added sugar is required, and/or where the compositions may provide an auxiliary alternative to the diet needs of consumers.
MICROEMULSION DELIVERY SYSTEMS INCORPORATED INTO GUMMY CONFECTIONS
Microemulsions incorporated into gummy confections are described where hydrophobic liquid droplets are distributed in a continuous hydrophilic liquid phase. In relation to conventional oil-in-water (OIW) microemulsions, prior to incorporation into the gummy confections the described microemulsions may be thought of as modified oil-in-water (MOIW) microemulsions, where both the oil and water phases of the microemulsion are modified. The oil phase droplets of the MOIW microemulsion are modified with alcohol and can better deliver oil-soluble species to the bloodstream than can oil blends or the oil phases of conventional oil-in-water (OIW) microemulsions. The polar continuous water phase of the MOIW microemulsion is modified with a sugar or sugar alcohol. The modified oil phase droplets disperse into the modified polar continuous phase of the MOIW microemulsion prior to incorporation into the gummy confection.
Compositions Comprising Guaifenesin and Eriodictyol
The present invention refers to a composition comprising eriodictyol and guaifenesin. In particular, the present invention refers to a composition comprising criodictyol and guaifenesin, said composition being for medical use, in particular for use in the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases. Moreover, the present invention relates to the use of eriodictyol and guaifenesin for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition. Finally. the present invention relates to the use of eriodictyol for masking or inhibiting the bitter taste of guaifenesin or guaifenesin comprising compositions.
Apple cider vinegar nutritional supplement
Shown herein is a nutritional supplement containing apple cider vinegar (ACV), including compositions, formulations, and combinations of ingredients in the ACV nutritional supplement, as well as processes for manufacturing these supplements. The nutritional supplement can include ACV, a gelling agent such as pectin or gelatin, an oligosaccharide, a disaccharide, and water.
Methods to grow then harvest and process insects
Insects are grown then harvested, mixed with ingredients, and then used to produce products. Insect are grown within an interior of an enclosure and heat is removed therefrom by providing a refrigerant vapor, condensing the refrigerant vapor to produce a liquid refrigerant, and evaporating the liquid refrigerant by transferring the heat from the interior of the enclosure to the liquid refrigerant. Insects eat feedstock and excrete insect frass which is then collected for use as a fertilizer. Also described is insect breeding and insect lipid extraction. Cannabis plants may be grown together with the insects.
Liquid-Holding Edible Object
A liquid-holding edible gummy or edible chew for oral consumption by an individual is disclosed. The gummy is a novel, cost-effective, hollow edible that enables users to consume a desired liquid such as an alcohol shot, a medicine, and more without using conventional bottles, cans, and more. The gummy includes a housing made of a gelling substance and the housing encloses a central cavity which holds a liquid. When the gummy is bitten or chewed, the liquid comes out from the cavity and provides a unique way of consuming the liquid. The gummy can be used as a delivery device for alcohol, medicine, non-alcoholic beverages, etc. The gummy is formed using a mold and the liquid, for example, can be injected inside the cavity through the housing.
BITTER TEA CANDY MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND BITTER TEA CANDY
A bitter tea candy manufacturing method includes: using fish mint, cut-leaf ground berry, Indian spherical turmeric, flemingia macrophylla, dried ginger, Indian peppermint, wakame, Indian echinacea and spreading hedyotis for a first decoction to obtain a green herb extract liquid; using the green herb residues remained for a second decoction to obtain a green herb extract liquid; re-extracting the first-and second-decoction extracted liquids to obtain a green herb extract concentrated liquid; adding the second-decoction noni fruit powder, maca powder, acanthopanax powder, rhodiola powder and naturally extracted strip menthol crystal grain and a small amount of excipients into the green herb extract concentrated liquid; rapidly freezing and grounding the mixed liquid to obtain a green herb extract powder; mixing the green herb extract powder with syrup, Vitamin C, and food grade menthol crystal powder to produce a candy; shaping the candy; and packaging the candy with an aluminium foil.
