ROLLER FOR TRANSPORTING A FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE, VACUUM PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND METHODS THEREFOR
A roller for transporting a flexible substrate is described. The roller includes a main body having a plurality of gas supply slits provided in an outer surface of the main body. The plurality of gas supply slits extends in a direction of a central rotation axis of the roller. Further, the roller includes a sleeve provided circumferentially around and in contact with the main body. The sleeve has a plurality of gas outlets extending in a radial direction (R) and being provided above the plurality of gas supply slits.
Substrate transport apparatus
A substrate transport apparatus including, a torsional motion driver member having an exterior perimeter circumscribing an axis of rotation of the torsional motion driver member, and a torsional motion follower member including a body portion and a bearing collar rotatably coupled to the body portion, the torsional motion follower member being coupled to the torsional motion driver member with a dimensionally substantially invariant interface, wherein the bearing collar is decoupled from the exterior perimeter of the torsional motion driver member so that the exterior perimeter, as a whole, is free of the bearing collar.
PORTABLE ROBOTIC SEMICONDUCTOR POD LOADER
A portable robotic semiconductor pod loader may detect, with at least one sensor, receipt of a semiconductor pod on a load port of the portable robotic semiconductor pod loader. The at least one sensor is supported by the load port. The portable robotic semiconductor pod loader may cause a robot, of the portable robotic semiconductor pod loader, to align with the semiconductor pod provided on the load port. The portable robotic semiconductor pod loader may cause the robot to attach to the semiconductor pod, and may cause the robot to provide the semiconductor pod from the load port to a staging area of a semiconductor processing tool.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED WAFER CARRIER HANDLING
A system and an operating method for automated wafer carrier handling are provided. The system includes a storage rack including a standby position and a storage position separated from each other, a first and second moving mechanism, and a controller operatively coupled to the first and second moving mechanism to control operations of the first and second moving mechanism. The storage position is for buffering a wafer carrier awaiting transfer to a load port. The first moving mechanism is movably coupled to the storage rack and provides at least one degree of freedom of movement to transfer the wafer carrier from the storage position to the standby position. The second moving mechanism is disposed over the storage rack, operatively coupled the storage rack to the load port, and provides at least one degree of freedom of movement to transfer the wafer carrier from the standby position to the load port.
TRAVELING VEHICLE SYSTEM
A traveling vehicle system includes a traveling track, a working track, a mover to move a traveling vehicle between a first position on the traveling track and the working track, and a transportation controller configured or programmed to control at least the traveling vehicle and the mover. The transportation controller is configured or programmed to transmit to the traveling vehicle a first command to travel to the first position and transmit to the mover a third command to move the traveling vehicle stopped at the first position to the working track after or simultaneously when transmitting to the traveling vehicle stopped at the first position a second command to lead a state in which the traveling vehicle is movable by the mover.
SUBSTRATE TRANSFER SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Disclosed herein are systems and methods relating to a transfer chamber for an electronic device processing system. The transfer chamber includes a magnetic levitation platform, having a magnetic levitation track disposed along a length of the transfer chamber and configured to generate a magnetic field above the track. The transfer chamber also includes a magnetic levitation track disposed along a width of the transfer chamber such that a plane of this lateral track crosses a plane of the longitudinal track at a junction. The lateral track is configured to generate a magnetic field above or below the track. The platform further includes at least one substrate carrier configured to move along the longitudinal track and the lateral track. The substrate carrier also is configured to rotate at the junction.
AIR CURTAIN FOR DEFECT REDUCTION
Air curtain devices can reduce defects on semiconductor wafers when implemented on a track equipped with robotic wafer transport. The air curtain devices can be added to one or more processing devices arranged along the track to prevent defects from landing on wafer surfaces. For example, the air curtain devices can prevent volatile organic solvent mist from drifting towards processing devices on the track and preventing contamination via a wafer transport system.
Rotational indexer with additional rotational axes
A rotational indexer that is rotatable to allow semiconductor wafers or other items to be moved between various stations arranged in a circular array; the items being moved may be supported by arms of the indexer during such movement. The rotational indexer may be further configured to also cause the items being moved to rotate about other rotational axes to cause rotation of the items relative to the arms supporting them.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MOVING AN OBJECT INTO A PROCESSING STATION, CONVEYING SYSTEM AND PROCESSING APPARATUS
A device for moving an object including a substrate through an open side of a processing station of a processing apparatus including a support, placeable at the processing station. The device includes a carrier, guided for movement relative to the support along a path predominantly directed in parallel to a reference axis in a reference co-ordinate system. The device includes a device for controlling movement of the carrier and driving the movement in an opposite direction along the path. The device includes a component for holding the object and a suspension mechanism with which the holding component is connected to the carrier. The suspension mechanism is arranged to guide movement of the holding component relative to the carrier along a holding component path. The device is arranged to drive the movement of the holding component along the holding component path. The holding component path is predominantly directed parallel to the reference axis.
